The joke is that Team Fury are still protesting their innocence.....

Sorry but if you have both accepted a deal for back dated bans, and accepted a deal where both your fights at the time have been quashed from the record books, then you are what you are. Drug cheats.

    This.

There was no conspiracy from UKAD against the Fury's. If they truly believe they have been wronged why not fight it? So many Fury fans seem to think Fury could sue UKAD for loss of earnings etc etc.

    Let the fun begin.

Like him or loathe him this will have a positive impact upon the HW division.

Subject to the licence, which I can’t foresee an issue with, im looking forward to seeing Tyson back in the ring.

3 stone down, 5/6 to go. Happy Christmas big man.

If anything he's been let off lightly. Absolutely no punishment for refusing a test and no extra time added for the nandrolone failure on the 2 years used as a retirement anyway. Plus Hughie has been allowed to fight during that time. They've got away with murder.

They create this whole mess themselves by cheating and then trying to cover it up with the 'retirement' and then complain they are being victimised & blame literally anyone but themselves. They then get let off with essentially no punishment, but I'm sure it will just be a matter of weeks before we hear of the terrible Witch hunt against them again.

    The decision seems usual.
People saying he "got off lightly" and "got away with murder" .... what's your frame of reference ?

Unless I've missed something, athletes usually get 2 year and 1 year bans for first drugs offense.
Fury had one positive for a PED, one for cocaine which was out-of-competition for a fight he never turned up for.
He missed one home-visit/out-of-competition test, again for a fight that never took place anyway.

Some Olympic athletes are actually allowed to refuse up to TWO per season, before any punishment.
And we know boxers who've actually tested positive for recreational drugs AT THE FIGHT and only received fines.

Don't let your hatred of the man blind you.

Jack McIntosh received a 4 year ban for attempting the exact same thing fury did after refusing to give a test. McIntosh tried the whole 'retirement' act the day after he gave a test which turned out to be positive (which i understand is the same as refusing to give a test). That's the first that sort of mirrors the situation surrounding Tysons refusal that I've found looking through UKADs list of currently banned athletes. There are a lot of athletes on there that seem to have received 4 year bans for anabolics, will have to look at more of them but at first glance I would say Tyson and Hughie have got off very lightly considering Hughie has been allowed to continue fighting during his 'ban' & Tyson was in self imposed retirement anyway.

Link for all currently banned athletes if anyone's interested in comparing cases: https://ukad.org.uk/anti-doping-rule-violations/current-violations/

Edit: actually found a rugby player on there given an 8 year ban for his 2nd failed test for nandrolone, the exact same thing Hughie and Tyson Fury received a 2 year back-dated ban for plus a refused test (all while still being allowed to fight by the looks of it if Tyson had followed Hughies lead and hadn't lost his mind trying to wriggle his way out of it). They've been treated like gods

Since Fury’s backdated 2 year ban, how many fighters have tested positive for PEDs, been banned, then resumed their career?

If he disputes the decision, how long would that take, another 6 months, 12 months? The lad just wants to get back to fighting now.

Welcome back big man. The heavyweight division just got really interesting again.

Jack McIntosh was a known steroid dealer.
He'd been convicted of selling steroids in 2012 or 2013.
I think that might have been a factor in him receiving a 4-year ban for refusing a test.

Lots of athletes have received 2-year bans for nandrolone.

You think some deemed guilty athlete can sue the UKAD for a 4-year ban simply because Fury (and others) - also deemed guilty - got a lesser ban ?

LOL ... it doesn't work like that.

If you're guilty, you're guilty. As long as the UKAD gave a ban that is permittable under their rules/guidelines, it is all good.
Ban athletes can appeal, but if they're guilty then haven't got a leg to stand on for suing the UKAD.

This can only be a good thing.

Aside from Parker. AJ has no obvious big name fights out there. So Tyson Fury is a potential mega fight for the Q1 of 2019.

Potentially some of the excellent CWs like Uysk and Gassiev should be making the step up, but they wont they will need 2 fights minimum to adjust to HW.

And some Boxers fail drugs tests but they are ignored by the authorities and they are allowed to continue to fight as if nothing happened...

Or some fighters ensure payments are made so the results are always clean.

And thats the reality here guys, when it comes to PEDs in HW boxing.

I couldn't see any on there with a 2 year ban, only lots of 4's and one with 8. Granted I'm sure there are athletes that have received 2 years for nandrolone in the past but I would be very surprised to hear any who have still been allowed to compete while serving that ban. Hughie and Tyson have had the red carpet laid out for them with all this imo.
