    Fury all talk as usual

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/boxing/42621606

British boxing chiefs say they are "nowhere near" granting Tyson Fury a licence to fight and still require medical records to lift his suspension.

The British Boxing Board of Control suspended Fury's licence in 2016 owing to "anti-doping and medical issues".

Fury, 29, accepted a backdated two-year anti-doping ban in December and is working towards a return in 2018.

He tweeted on Wednesday that he would be "applying for my licence today" and would be back in the ring in April.

But the BBBofC has not spoken to Fury and insists the process "really can't move on" without medical records

We do not know it's with the BBBofC.

He has stated several times he will not work with BBBofC again.

Some backwater boxing commision in Hungary or Latvia will grand him a license for the right "entree fee" I'm sure.
Question is, can he fight in Britain with such a license after the brexit complicated things severely, and against a guy that is licensd by the BBBofC

I would think so. He's already admitted the cocaine use, and they've obviously come to an agreement over the PED situation. You'd hope Fury doesn't have anything else left to hide..

    Cool.

If he can get to the old shape he was in, he is a nightmare at worst for anyone

But can he get to that? No easy. Although with youth on his side (weirdly) it is doable

the case is a total mess, neither side come out of this with any credit at all. incompetence, lies, cheating blackmail, it has it all.

however, talking of getting off lightly, how many athletes from 'team GB' TM are lauded for their successes despite doping violations, i can think of a few, i can think of a few household name footballers also. none of them faced this kind of treatment or scrutiny or lasting malignment.

like most people, its the hypocrisy/double standards that i find so distasteful, id have no problem with fury having the book thrown at him for breaking the rules if it was transparent and equal.
