Like it or not he's the lineal champion. He's absolutely qualified to fight Wilder. All the same, Wilder sparks him in 5. You just can't come back from the wear and tear he's put his body through.
Only thing that makes me question if Tyson is ready which I don't think he is, is Big John letting him in there to take the fight. John seems like a sharp chap, and if he reckons Tyson's ready then perhaps he is. Fury has always had a bit of a habit of fighting to the level of his opponent. All the same I think Wilder sparks him and should be a heavy favorite. We'll see.
This is my issue, the little goofy fights that he's had in his comeback have not prepared him for a top 10 fighter. Pre coke/hedgehog eating/mental breakdown Fury I have no doubt would've befuddled Wilder and Joshua. I don't know where this version stands. The fights have proven nothing. I personally don't think he was ready for a top 5 guy, but we're gonna find out.
Big John doesn't think he's close to being back to where he was before (if that is even possible and as of now we don't even know it is given the dire quality of opposition he fought in those 2 tune ups) and if he had his way they would've taken at least another 6 months and fought quality opponents to sharpen his tools up and give himself the best possible chance of winning. He thinks Tyson is 50% and that he couldn't possibly be back to his best or anywhere near given the inactivity, the abuse he put his body through, and the lack of fights he's had in that time and the quality of opponent he fought when he did actually come back. Timestamped This content is protected Tyson's trainer didn't want this fight yet either This content is protected Tyson's brother Shane said he wanted him to have more tune ups first and Frank Warren also said ideally he should've had at least two more fights before stepping up to this level. Even Tyson said he was going to do it the proper way when he came back and have at least 4 tune ups. Problem is he's extremely stubborn and he thinks it's written in the stars for him to win this fight and that god is going to be in his corner.
No argument from me on that one. I've never rated him that highly and his resume and boxing skills are utter garbage. His resume is so poor that it tears itself apart for you. I do think he's improved somewhat in recent years but he still doesn't impress me much. However, if there's one thing he can do in addition to yelling bomb squad at top of his voice is punch and he's pretty fast and the pre-ballooned up to 400lbs, seriously abused his body with industrial amounts of alcohol, cocaine, and junk food, inactive for 2.5 years or not fought anyone with a pulse Tyson was dropped by scrubs like Pajkic, hurt and almost went down against Firtha, and dropped heavily by light hitting CW Cunningham so I'm sure Donkey is more than capable of doing a lot worse against this version of Fury. The skill level gap between them is huge and Fury is still capable of boxing Donkey's ears off even now. However, his reflexes and sharpness have to be on point for all 12 rounds assuming it goes that long and I very much doubt they are or could be given the inactivity, abuse he put his body through, his lack of fights and him not having fought anyone with a pulse in 3 years.
If Fury wins it will be a bit of a miracle, all the evidence says he doesn't have much of a chance. The fact his trainer is so inexperienced doesn't inspire confidence, you cant blag that, he will be exposed clear as day when Tyson needs serious guidance, they can say what they like. The only good signs are when Fury speaks, he talks a good fight and has made Wilder look silly. but the fact is Fury walking into this fight from nowhere. I hope he does it but I just cant see it, Wilder isn't that bad, he can land on Fury and has shown he has a bit of heart when hurt himself.
And this is why he's the underdog in this fight. You can't discount how much 3 years out of the ring, 120lbs weight gain, drugs and mental illness will have taken out of Fury. Ali had 3 years out and wasn't the same and he didn't have to shift all the weight Fury did. Haye too wasn't the same after his return and was a shadow of his former self. Tyson too wasn't the same after he got out of prison. Even if Fury does somehow last until the final bell he'll needed to have pretty much shut Wilder out for him to have a chance of getting the decision. It's an awfully big ask considering what he's had to go throw to get back into the ring.
you cant hold onto a lineal title if you are a cheat. like it or not you are claiming that Lance Armstrong is stilla multi tour de france winner.
I do not like Wilder at all but he can PUNCH. Sure Fury is very skilled but I get the sense they are rushing him because of the possibiity of Fury going off the deep end . Fury reminds me of Kirkland Laing- all the skill in the world but a mess in terms of self discipline .
Shane Fury elaborates on his brother Tyson's mental and physical state during those 2.5 years of inactivity and how heavy his alcoholism and drug abuse was Timestamped This content is protected He also touches on the fracas on the stage the other day (at the start of the vid) and how one of the members of Bum Squad tried giving it William large testicles only to lose his bottle after he received a couple of clumps up the lug from him. Shane is currently injured and on crutches but had he not been every single member of Bum Squad (including Donkey) would've gotten their asses paddled something terrible. Bum Squad are hella lucky Big John, Uncle Peter, Hughie, Clifton Mitchell and the rest of the Fury clan weren't there otherwise they'd all be nursing broken jaws right now.
I like Paris Fury she seems like she's got a good heart and she comes across well. This content is protected
