Have any one of you fools seen his unnecessary homophobic Twitter rant? He isn't like ALI funny, no creativity.
Fury's awesome. I love when people defend Ali and talk about how great he was. Fact is, if this board existed when he was fighting he'd be hated on here worse than ANYONE. He was in fact hated for much of his career.
well ali's humour was obviously less reckless than the more immature fury. but nowadays crude language is used more often so the humour is totally different, but both speak there mind, and quick witted.
quick twitted more like. I agree, he isn't charismatic. james toney has more charisma. fingers crossed he gets Priced out soon, even by Haye who I don't like either. (and you know, I actually like David Price).
The way Ali made fun of Frazier was completely tasteless and much worse than anything Fury has ever said: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPI6dBgmokw Go to 24:25, but you should watch the whole documentary because it's the best boxing video you'll ever see!
Fury isn't charismatic he just says a lot of **** to draw attention that is not charisma that's just being controversial and loud mouth. There have been plenty of fighters more charismatic than Fury, there are plenty of active fighters more charismatic than him now. Ali could make very hurtful remarks and outlandish statements and if anything was even more controversial but he came up with poetic and witty quotes that will be remembered generations from now. "Sting like a butterfly float like a bee" Ali had style, Fury just has shock value. Ali made himself look smart and witty, Fury makes himself look bigoted and idiotic.
I never really paid much attention to Fury for years but during the Fury-Cunningham fight build up I saw a press-conference and the act that he put on and I thought it was great and it made me watch him and take notice. What people fail to realize is that not every boxer is going to be quiet and humble. If everyone did that it would be boring. You need guys like Furry who are willing to stir stuff up a bit. This type of stuff sells fights because people will either tune in to see him win or tune in to see him get KTFO. Boxing needs more guys like Fury.
ah t the press conference he was ok, but wrestling steve to knock him down and then gormlessly doing that sing song after the shame of his inadequacy came across as trite. He really needed to get out the ring instead of grinning with glee at his horrible win. Who celebrates a wrestling match with a Irish shanty.? That's just how I felt after watching him that night, he was likeable before then. With fury, hes got the talk but he hasn't got the judgement of when to use it. It seems like he preplans stuff to say before the fight, and doesn't know when to NOT use it when its inappropriate given the outcome time and place. ANd sure we need more furry guys cos Chewbacca would ktfo the Klitschkos for sure.
