Apparently there is a study that proves intense training and dehydration combined with a high protein intake from suppliments with all legal susbtances can cause a positive nandrolone result. "A much more likely theory has recently emerged from the results of a preliminary investigation at Aberdeen University. The findings are that dietary supplements themselves are harmless and produce no increased levels of nandrolone. Exercise alone, too, doesn't cause any problems. But a combination of both dietary supplements (none of which contain a banned substance) and exercise, can result in a positive nandrolone test. The reason for this is still unclear, but one theory is that there is a link between heavy training, the dehydration that goes with it, and their effects upon the components of high protein diets. Until more work is done, however, the 'nandrolone mystery' goes on..." http://www.chm.bris.ac.uk/motm/nandrolone/nandh.htm
It can produce what it breaks down to yea.. also a pregnant woman can have high levels of nandrolone and pass it on to the partner.. was Paris Fury having a baby recently or something..
"It is possible that the body may naturally create a form of nandrolone, particularly if the subject has eaten large quantities of meat contaminated with the substance. It is also possible that dietary supplements taken perfectly legally by some athletes are broken down by the body to produce the same substances created when nandrolone is broken down". http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/medical_notes/241341.stm
Even Lucas Browne is likely to be reinstated as WBA champion.. even Linford Christie was cleared in the end..
A steroid is just a compound with four carbon rings.. foods and herbs have natural steroids.. some catabolic and some anabolic.. usually those herbal supplements like ginseng have the anabolic ones though..
Probably why this isn't a clear cut case and while legal proceedings are taking place to clear his name. I guess Hughie Fury was also taking the same supplements and following the same regime that led to the traces of nandrolone. If they are cleared they really need to find out what they did differently during that period of time which led to these traces of nandrolone, otherwise this will be a reoccurring situation.
Apparently there is a study that going down on pregnant chicks can artificially elevate Nandrolone levels. That could be the problem right there.
Well then there'd be literally thousands of cases. Every hard training athlete there is would be popping for it.
Some with clenbuterol.. like with Lucas Browne.. I dunno if it's a 1000 cases.. but ones who claim their innocence and ones who admitted..
