Far enough, Dude is on Showtime. Line him up to face the winner of Haye/Harrison. Obviously the Klits are a cut above...
lol ohhhhhhh just finished the fight, thought he was suppose to tko the guy out lol Powers totally gassed out by rd4 and mentally checked out - not sure how or why he continued and Fury couldnt close him out.... this fight was tortuous to watch.... the only thing i liked was their sense of sportsmanship lol - Fury kissed him in the end! Cute Fury should have room to sharpen up. He is a slick puncher in his own right, knows how to shorten up his shots and throw inside. Knows how to catch his opponent offguard at unconventional angles and positioning, and can put his punches together. Keeps a long jab. Kind of over-commits his right..... Work on *better stamina *double jab, then right combo to work off the strength of his punch behaviors *better balance, dont over-commit right *stop going lefty stance to cover over-commitment *stop going in so deep, got longass arms - vulnerable to counter-uppercut *better footwork to maintain armlength advantage, keep opponent in no man's land
Fury/Power was the first time I had seen Tyson. He looked very sloppy and needs to improve that jab of his to have any chance against a top-ten hw. I liked Power hanging in there. He was surely beaten, but he willed himself to make it through the fight. Power needs to do some roadwork.
He needs more discipline and a new trainer with those two things he could make huge improvements but at present he is fleshy with poor stamina and doesnt use his tools to his advantage.
was very surprised to see him actually hang around.... looked like he was looking for ANYTHING to get him out of the fight lol. First he was complaining about his hand being ****ed up, though he said himself he wasnt going to use the jab anyways (which would be the hand he ****ed up). Then he kept on looking at his corner while fighting (wtf!). Then he kept on dropping down to the ground. I was waiting for the ref to give him a 10count for that nonsense, and to reward Tyson. Usually, with those type of shenanigans and distractions, the fighter is looking to call it quits, but it never happened lol. Powers decided to act like a man afterwards and made it a decent fight after a lousy 5 rounds....
Power gave it his all. Even though the fight was very one-sided, I found the match very exciting. I was cheering when Power finished the fight. A good moral victory for him.
I wonder how the hell Powers tired after 4 rounds when he threw only 30 or so punches per round. Typical "I don't need roadwork, I'll lift weights" attitude..
He looked promising at the start but now hes got a good few fights under his belt he doesnt look much better, unless he dramaticly improves hes going nowhere.
Good lord, here we go again. The guy is 22 years old. At his height, he will not even be physcially mature for another 8 years. He has all of the time in the world to correct his mistakes, even if he had to losoe a couple to see the light.
while I feel sorry for him because his name has had him in the public eye for years, must have been 2004 i first heard of him, which was along time before he turned pro....that being said: **** stamina leaves his left hanging poor footwork sloppy at times all of which needs dealing with now, or hes gonna be ****ed!
He is extremely raw but he does have some decent tools. The problem is that he hasn't improved since he turned pro and it doesn't look like he wants to. He doesn't have the right people around him, they're the sought that tell him he is great and he will win a title.
