Did Fury sign a contract with Ustinov, held a press conference, went to a weight-in? Once you commit to a fight , you show up -- as long as you're in good physical condition. Short notice doesn't matter once you sign a contract.

Am I missing something? All of you are bitching and complaining that Fury has pulled out, but his trainer/uncle is in the hospital? Isn't it possible this is a legitimate reason to pull out of a fight?

Not after all the trash talk by Fury! He rediculed everyone who pulled out of fights and now he pulls out ten hours before the fight.

He has an assistant trainer. You didn't see Wladimir Klitschko pull out of the Wach fight when Emmanuel became ill.

Let's be honest here: Fury got scared.

I think Ustinov would have a good chance at KOing Fury.

    I agree.

And Fury realized it too, that's why he pulled out.

It's not Peter who is sick, it's his brother Hughie. He's been in hospital for awhile, had an operation a few days ago.

He shouldn't have signed with Ustinov in the first place if he was that distracted. He could've simply bailed on the date after Chisora withdrew without taking the backlash he is now.

The backlash is justified- it reeks of Fury thinking Ustinov would be big, fat, and out of shape and then having serious buyer's remorse once he went through with the contract and found out that the behemoth is in better shape than he expected, and probably better shape than he's in himself.

TBH you dont take on guys like Ustinov,a huge world ranked heavyweight with 4 days notice. Its stupid and could cost him millions.

That's exactly why I wouldn't have blamed him for simply dropping the date in the first place.

It was a dangerous move and one even his detractors had to respect.....had he not signed the bottom line, I wouldn't blame him in the slightest for not taking on Ustinov on such short notice.

    :rofl:patsch

He has already cost himself millions by fooling with Haye and then having a pointless rematch with Chisora. Not to mention all the ring rust etc.

Bottom line is he saw Ustinov was inshape and not scared and he pulled out like a coward with a joke of an excuse. Disgraceful.

The Haye situation wasn't his fault and the Chisora fight wasn't pointless as it was supposedly for the WBO no 1 spot.

At world level you need a structured camp to get tactics and strategy right with hopefully ideal sparring. You dont walk in blind with no strategy.
