They have a contract to fight each other. The split is 60-40 in Fury's favor, because he won fight 2. What they earn will be based on how many PPVs the fight sells. The WBC isn't involved. The fighters are involved. The networks distributing the fights are involved. The WBC didn't sign the contract. The fighters did.

And if Fury vacated or the WBC stripped him, the Ring/lineal title will still be on the line.

Wilder didn't go to an arbitrator to force the WBC to give him a WBC title fight, he went to an arbitrator to force Fury to fight him.

This is a contract between two men. Not the WBC.

I wouldn't say he's being set up to lose but it's obvious inactivity is a killer for Fury in terms of his mental health. The suspension for doping last time which saw him unable to fight probably had much to do with his spiraling out of control and this pandemic again has forced a period of inactivity which has seen his worst trait come to the surface again. Fury seems to need boxing to give his life purpose and focus and without it he's lost.

But hopefully now with the Wilder fight signed it will give him something to again focus on and bring him back to the Fury we know. He won't be in any worse condition than the first fight and as long as we don't see another robbery he should come out on top again because he's levels above Wilder, even 50% Fury beat him, so if Fury shows even at 80% of the version we saw last time he beats Wilder convincingly.

He says he can't make money with Crawford, never really heard him doubt the talent. It's a weird move and if it were anyone else I would say he was just speaking his mind.

Really hope not but there's some evidence pointing in this direction.

The last year will have been bad for Fury but I don't buy Wilder has been quietly rebuilding stronger than ever. We saw the best Wilder we'll ever see in ~2019, what remains to be seen is if Fury will slip worse.
