Tyson Fury is getting better and better

Price even managed to get dropped in that fight too.

 

Believed in Tyson from very first fight, Looked a natural fighter but a guy relying on that now under his Uncle Peter he's settling down and developing technically and physically.

He changed trainer to much but Manny has to take credit for his small piece of work with Tyson where he worked on balance with him. Tyson did show signs of development until his child got ill then lost his way but the past 8 months i've been very impressed with his developments.

 

I'm pretty sure Manny said that Fury would be the next dominant HW after Wlad. I can't see any interview where he says he won't go anywhere. Do you have a link to one?

 

Ofcourse he doesn't mate,he's never watched Fury fight let alone bothered to read what trainers and what not have said about the man.

I disagree. Fury looked markedly faster and sharper in the Johnson fight than we've seen him before. His jab's becoming quite decent now. With improved training and general maturation of his body I think it's quite possible that we might see some real tangible improvements in Fury's physical abilities. Don't forget he's only 24 and a very big framed guy.

But even if he doesn't "get any faster", he'll improve and gain experience, which is what most decent young prospects do. And his hands aren't particularly slow to begin with. Not blazing fast, but fast enough to catch most opponents, and he strings punches together well for a man his size.

I, like many people, still find it hard to get behind Fury as a legit prospect given his general clownishness, but I have to say the win against Johnson has made me view him in a slightly different light. His problems at the moment aren't physical but stylistic and mental based. He needs to maintain and box behind a sharp jab, and avoid getting into needless brawls. The Johnson fight proved he could do that, and I hope to see further improvements from him in the future.

Then he stopped training Tyson, and had a very different viewpoint later on, which he mentioned several times while commenting on various fights. I don't have the time or desire to fin quotes for you. However, his 2012 Ring Magazine interview, in which he says Wilder will likely earn a championship fight within one year, is easy to find.

And regardless, Fury 'aint getting any faster with age. He's a good counterpuncher's dream target. That's not going to change.

Why don't the Brits get behind David Price, instead? Despite one major defensive flaw, he's the real deal.

But why must Fury get any faster to become better? Do you consider him to be especially slow to begin with? Or his lack of speed to be some insurmountable hindrance to his future chances?

You have to keep in mind this guy is just 24 and a baby in heavyweight terms but already accomplished and getting better. Manny will be proved right.
