He's basically saying Anthony Joshua is the best of this era

2nd best & will remain so for years to come.

Many currently consider AJ as the best because they're crackheads so this is the point Fury is making.

His interview was good. Elite level

His singing not so much. Tomato can level.

I really don't think he realizes that Joshi being the best of this era is exactly the point he's making, and it seems clearly unintentional.

He means the best who he can fight.
It goes without saying that he thinks he is the best.
But he can't exactly fight himself.

He fought himself in a battle to the death from 2016 to the end of 2017 & won. What a fight that was.

I know what he means, but that is not what he said.
The point is, that the most rabid Fury fan on this forum comes up with a video saying Fury made a good point. Only the point being that If he beats Joshua he has beaten the best of this era (which then has to be Joshua), and the previous era (which of course is Wlad).
Conclusion out of his statement: Wlad was the best of the previous era, and Joshua is the best of the current era. And if he beats him, then he has beaten both... BUT there isn't even a conclusion about him being the best of this era after... afterall, nobody has Ruiz Jr as best of this era either.
It's just hilarious that he wants to sound like the greatest that ever walked the planet, but words it so poorly that he basically could actually be just a trivia question... Which modern Heavyweight boxer beat both the best of two era's in the ring? You have 30 seconds.

Um, dude is a mental case. He's probably fought himself many times.

Does Fury even fight? He is 33 soon and has a thin resume. He desperately needs some good wins for his legacy.

No he isn’t. Obviously he’s not included himself in the discussion..you know because he can’t beat himself.

Don't think I can make it any more clear in my follow-up post so you can understand it.

I understood fine, I just think you’re wrong. When he made his statement the tacit understanding is that he’s not including himself. It’s like for instance if an athlete is asked to list the best competitors in their sport, generally they don’t include themselves. It just goes without saying.
