Fury actually feared and avoided Usyk for two years, tried to age him out.

Watch Joshua-Ngannou and Joshua-Johnson, then watch Fury's fights with the same people.
Styles make fights, Fury fears he'll be knocked out by Joshua.

The only thing maybe slightly worse than Fury vs. Pulev imaginable would be Pulev vs. (Hughie) Fury II.

Agree, Fury is already past prime and should stop messing around

However.. I’m not defending the Pulev fight because it is dreadful, however it does make sense as a comeback fight if he fights AJ after Pulev. Because,

    1) Pulev has the WBA Regular belt, so Fury becomes a “world champion” again (albeit fake), and they can bill Fury-AJ as the “WBA Heavyweight Championship” for casuals (but real boxing fans know it’s a paper belt)
And 2) Pulev is a former AJ win, so it helps build the Fury-AJ fight

Like I said, I’d prefer Fury just fight AJ straight away, but Fury-Pulev is a fight that makes sense on multiple levels.

What do you have against Fury going 4-0?

(Seriously though, agreed... I'd rather see Chisora 4 than Wilder 4, and that's saying something!)

Tyson Fury, the so-called Gypsy King, wants a comeback? And he picks Kubrat Pulev? That’s not a fight, that’s a charity event for the AARP! Pulev’s so old, his ring walk music should be the theme from Golden Girls. Has Fury sunk so low that the only “risk” he’ll take is fighting a man who needs to stretch before he signs the contract?

Fans want to see Fury against Joshua, not some museum display. If Fury needs a tune-up after his December 2024 loss, at least fight someone with a pulse—like Martin Bakole or Agit Kabayel. Pulev? Please. If this is the Gypsy King’s idea of a comeback, he should just stay retired and spare us the farce

That Golden Girls remark put a smile on my face. Now, I'll be thinking of Betty White the rest of the day.

If ever there was a heavyweight in the ring of American entertainment, it was Betty White—a true champion with a smile that could light up Madison Square Garden and a wit sharper than a prizefighter’s jab. She floated through decades of show business with the effortless grace of a Sugar Ray Robinson and the comedic timing of Ali’s left hook, unconventional to say the least. Betty didn’t just steal scenes—she owned them, like a legend who knew the ropes and made everyone else look like sparring partners. In a world of pretenders, Betty White was the real deal: a class act, a crowd favourite, and an icon whose legacy will never hit the canvas.

Another example (if true) - if more examples were needed - that Fury is only interested in low risk high financial reward fights and NOT more meaningful ones or the bouts fans want to see.

Honestly I'm pretty happy if Fury just stays retired, he needs to keep his word and stay out of the ring. In 15 years time he can do an exhibition match against Joshua for old time's sake and a boat load of money if he wants.

These guys need to stop mucking around and clear the division to give space for a new generation to come up and develop, instead of sucking all the oxygen in heavyweight for themselves. If they want to make a comeback they can do it properly and build their way back up and show they are serious.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but if Fury ever fights Aj then I'm backing Joshua and want him to win

He's far better for the sport and admits his losses
