It is roughly the perfect match to show that you don't want to prove anything to anyone who knows anything. Boxing Business 101.

That is a very grim list from the self proclaimed greatest of all time
He said on video yesterday he would beat Muhammad Ali, but that is a bad resume.

We all give him death for fighting Chisora often, but other than Old Wlad and a protected Wilder, who else has he? Whyte?

Joshua doesn't have an amazing resume either, as the era isn't great, but it is definitely better than the above

    It really is, isn't it?

That and the lack of willingness to rematch with Wlad devalues that win... Especially when you see him chasing his THIRD trilogy after having them with Wilder and Chisora, so he clearly doesn't have an issue with rematches!

In fairness to Joshua he fought almost everyone good with the exception of the guys that ducked him (and two of those come with asterisks as overhyped with poor resumes) - Fury, Wilder and Ortiz.

Who else was out there that he didn't go for?
Joyce maybe, but his star didn't shine very long and the timing wasn't there.
Zhang, likewise arrived late and the timing wasn't there - at least there's an amateur matchup, too...

Then you're into guys who were either nothing special (Bakole, Jennings, etc) or were considered joke opponents at the time (Kabayel).

Yes, it's a crap era, but I'm not sure he could've built a much better resume in it...
You can't say the same for Fury - and that's before you get to the luck he had to not have at least a couple more losses on his record!

And remember when there were rumours AJ wanted to fight Zhang in China as his comeback opponent in 2023, people were saying that he was cherry picking.

Fury has never been a man of his word, he can only justify his return by fighting Joshua...

I don't think Fury is eligible to fight for a title after having two back to back losses.

So that'll be presumably contested for the WBA (Regular) heavyweight title, then ~

I'm gonna go against the grain here.

I think pulev as a tune up is fine. He lost his last two and took a lot of damage. So long as his next opponent is a bigger step up

The back to back losses to Usyk can't be sitting well with the Furious One. He can't simply leave it like this and ride off into the sunset like this. He must seek revenge on his Ukrainian conqueror but would surely need a tune up first.

If it's a tune up for something big down the line then that's alright I suppose. What's Fury's internal organs situation like at the moment? Any inflammation or scarring? His metabolism must be reaching breaking point or maybe it's there. He's a big flabby giant who's lost his speed so he needs to show that he can adapt. Pulev might give him a bit of a workout if he can get that jab going.

No idea, AJ already beat Zhang once.

Yea, that was then they were much greener in the ams. I asked because I truly couldn't tell, could see AJ outboxing Zhang all evening and possibly stopping him late, but can also see the fight ending with a big bang from Zhang in round 1.

Yeah. 50/50 fight definitely. And since Zhang took Wilder's power, AJ might have been in trouble.
