Tyson fury - moneyball applied to boxing

The point is, Tyson Fury has pretty great intangibles and underrated technical proficiency and options. I'm not going overboard, as he still has a LOT to prove, but last night was a great display of intangibles.

 

I've always said Fury had amazing foot speed, movement, and skill+the ability to switch up to south paw, it was his defense that I underrated, and feinting.

 

Wilder and JOshua would both stop Fury. Sorry guys, styles make fights.

 

If I were in vegas, I'd actually put money on it. I'll ban bet anyone besides you since you welched if he fights Wilder or Joshua :good. Actually I'm so confident that I'll take a one month ban bet, but this was also my prediction before the Wlad fight, "Yes definitely some credit, he's still the clear cut #1, but we all know 10-20 years from now if Fury does win it would be blown WAY out of proportion, Fury probably would duck Joshua, Wilder etc and fight the Glaskovs of the world and retire living off the Klitschko win." You think this prediction will come true?

 

I knew fury was special since the get go just like I knew Ward was special.

Ever since wlad fought povetkins was when I really started to give fury a chance. i KNEW if wlad tried holding a bigger man with a longer reach like that youre going to pay, since he as more weapons than the inside.

wlads style is made to be taller. He is not an adapter, he cannot brawl on the inside and fury exposed holes in the Eastern European school.

Fury can fight both british and American and Roy Jones. 3 styles better than 1

 

The feinting was excellent.

Thing is, Fury is a real fighter. He has that "fighting" instinct. Very few truly have that.. most just learn to be good boxers and fighters. Of course, Fury had to learn too, but it feels extremely natural and he exudes creativity and understanding of dynamics in fights.

He has a good base to work off to forge a very fine career, so it's down to motivation and discipline now. There will be plenty of worthy opponents coming + possible Wlad rematch.

 

I'm a fan of the sport, I like Broner, Khan, hell even Victor Ortiz, Berto, all of these guys have given us fantastic fights, how can you not be a fan of them?

Dude you always write Wilder off, just like you did against Stiverne. You'll find an excuse once they fight, if you like we can both put up 20 dollars, and send it to someone like CST as a middleman, if they do fight. Put your money where your mouth is.
