Obviously Ali, and you know that too. The thread will end up just being a Fury bashing thread, perhaps that was the intention!
Fury got hit by one shot in that clip while Ali got hit by none and Ali was fighting Dokes in an exhibition while Fury was fighting a fighter well outside the top 10, however both of them were in dreadful shape in these clips and Ali was nowhere near his prime.
No, he always had his right glove up and often got nailed, Floyd`s shoulder roll wasnt effective and hindered Floyd.
Wilder, who soaked up 7 rounds of continual pummelling in order to lull his opponent into a false sense of security 18 months later. Bomb Squad!
I guess its more impressive from Fury because Ali is a small heavyweight while Fury is one of the largest. But obviously Ali did it better
The rope a dope is when you lay back on the ropes and block/absorb shots not slipping shots with your back against the ropes
I guess youre right. The guy who ended up with brain damage and couldn't wipe his own ass by the age of 50 was the true master of the rope a dope
I always though Furys looked like a poor mans version of Alis when I watched this. But Fury is over 6'7" and his opponent wasn't sitting back at max range like Alis was. Furys opponent opened the combinations to the body which Fury had to block then he set at mid to close range trying to restrict Furys movement with the elbow and forearm. I would have to say that Alis opponent made it much easier to look flashy against.
I don't think Mayweather was hurt there. He was just extremely cautious in that entire fight as every time he tried to open up and be more aggressive he started to get countered.
