The biggest fight that could possibly be made in the HW division right now is a showdown between Fury and Joshua. That fight has the highest likelihood of surpassing Wembley's 90,000 attendance rate this past Saturday night.

Someone in the Fury camp had to have weighed the potential of this development coming to fruition at some point. And yet Fury (the truly recognized "Man" at HW before his impromptu meltdown) has allowed himself to deteriorate and morph into a fat tub of goo over the past year.

There is too much money and history to be made for a guy with Fury's ability to remain a non-factor. Let's Go Champ!!

Word on the street is, Fury has 50 lbs of undigested hedgehog meet in his colon.

But because of his beliefs he won't let anyone try to get it out because he doesn't like people messing with his ass.

That's why he looks so bloated.

Indeed. The UKAD has him by the 'nads... and if he doped and got caught, then that is his consequence.

Amazingly, that whole saga still hasn't been sorted out yet.

It's big in the UK, but I don't think he'll ever be the same fighter again. Joshua will beat him.

What a shame. Fury is a good fighter with big personality.
The big money will definitely entice him back and a match with Joshua will be great. And Joshua did call him out after the Wlad fight. So it's up to Fury to get his butt back in the gym.
But it's hard to gain back once you lost the drive. If it happens down the track, he will get beat.

Fury needs to get in shape, take a tune-up if he feels he needs it to get rid of any rust, and see if he can school these guys.

He definitely left himself go big time, which unfortunately hinders a fighter's longevity. :shakehead:

It's a shame we'll probably never see him back at the point he was before he went off the rails. There was room for him to improve, of course... being that he only had 24 fights prior to fighting Wlad. Instead of building on where he was, he'll have to do a ton of work just purely on conditioning and losing all of that weight.

The guy set himself back in a major way.

Whatever he did in the aftermath of the Wlad fight seems to have totally destroyed his body. If he can get back even seventy five percent of what he once was I'd be very surprised.

Such a shame considering we've probably already seen the best of him and it wasn't close to what he could have gone on to achieve.

I hope he comes back in shape but in honesty I think he's done as a top level fighter. Some just can't stay motivated or deal with being champion. Douglas was on top of the world after beating Tyson but then ballooned in weight like Fury and Holyfield wrecked him and then ate himself into oblivion. Bowe beat Holyfield in a war but was never the same fighter as he started to balloon up in weight.

Despite plans to come back this summer he has a huge amount of weight to lose at best he'll come back at the tail end of the year, so he'll have been inactive for about 2 years. The constant weight fluctuations, substance abuse and depression will age him, the extra weight he carried on his tall frame will also leave it's mark, resulting in him being injury prone. Bowe was shot or close to it by 28 and Fury is 28 now, while he hasn't had as many wars as Bowe, I suspect by the time he returns he'll be a shadow of his former self.

I always saw major echoes of Bowe in Fury and I think he'll burn out in similar fashion. Just hope he doesn't have a Golota moment, though that's what I fear will happen if he takes on Joshua.

He needs to lose the weight and have some tune ups.
I think people exaggerate the possible damaging effects getting out of shape will have in the long run.
The problem for him is the effort it will take to get back, not the supposed permanent effects of ballooning in weight.
Some of the greatest fighters ever ballooned up and came back. It all depends on whether he can flick that mental switch and get serious and sustain it.

The PEDs thing for me is a big "so what?"

It's a relatively minor issue. He'll either get a ban or he'll get off with it. If he's seriously about coming back he'll train while he's serving the ban and be ready as soon as it is lifted. No one cares really. Povetkin, Ortiz, Browne, Briggs, loads of fighters have tested positive for PEDs.

Let's be real, the money was not a problem before. He was going to earn 15 million pounds vs. Wlad in the rematch and he left that on the table because he couldn't handle the pressure of facing Wlad again in a big fight.

Saying that "the big money" is needed to motivate Fury is ignoring the facts. He was going to get paid his career high payday in the Wlad rematch and he simply ducked out.

He's been rumbled for steroid use and was likely smashing the gear to get in shape before. You've got to ask yourself can he get himself back in shape clean because let's face it his team are inept at masking PED use.....
