Arum, in the plainest possible language, states very, very clearly that the 80m figure is nonsense. And he's the one paying the fighters.

The reality of the scenario is that for all the 'Tyson is now a megastar in America' garbage he's actually no more than a guy who doesn't hold a title, who doesn't punch, has just come off the B side of a fight which didn't do good business, and who's highlight reel consists of an endless loop of him getting knocked down and getting up again.

His fanboys have really jumped the gun with this one. The idea that a guy as boring as Fury was suddenly going to be earning Mayweather money fighting for his 'lineal' crown in Vegas was laughable.

Not neccessarily. When you're announcing something like this you want to play it up. It's reasonable to expect the £80m to be at the high end of a range of potential outcomes and that's what the PR guys have pushed to the journalists covering the event.

Fury's actual earnings are likely going to be heavily tied to financial performance, for example, how many new sign-ups to ESPN+ are generated. Exactly the same goes for Canelo's deal with DAZN in my view. There's a headline grabbing figure, then there's the devil in the details.

Fury will not be facing Wilder next,he's just turned down a 50/50 split offer for a rematch.
The momentum and respect he gained from the fight is now being pissed away for Arum's new pension plan.
His prerogative, his right ,but he needs to cut out all the **** about" I'm The Man." .He's a mobile big guy who doesn't engage and doesn't hit hard, a couple of snore bores in the US and he will be yesterday's news and pretty much unmarketable,.Fury is only colourful and watchable when he is outside the ring.

Mayweather’s style later in his career was considered boring by a lot of people but his persona made him sell very well. The wilder fury fight wasn’t boring either nor did it do poor business.

It’s shame that the rematch is not going to happen immediately I think with the cultural impact of the first fight in America could of done well over half a million ppv buys in the states.

That's fair enough. First I'd heard.

I'm not upset gentlemen. Unlike numerous AJ fans, I don't get off on Tyson Fury's wages. Of course I'd be happy for him to make big money because for me, he's the most skilled, charismatic heavyweight that's been around in a long time. However, if he signed to fight AJ or Wilder for a 10% split I'd be over the moon, because it's his fights and fight build up that I enjoy. Nothing else. Although it's only fair to debate his worth when haters claim he's boring, unpopular and all that nonsense.

As long as Fury is fit and active I'll be delighted. If the ESPN deal ensures that happens, then brilliant.

I don't think Whyte fairs too well against Fury but he does have a few things running for him.

    • He can destroy Furys long torso to slow him down... fury has never dealt with this as he always leans his head back and his stomach comes.forward.
Then he can exchange better with crosses and hooks.

But if he isnt succesful in slowing fury down then he loses in points.

I didn't call anything wrong today. I based my posts on the initial reports given to the public. If you could've posted Arum's actual comments, instead of acting the imbecile, we all could've saved ourselves time. Although clearly, you put no value on time, because this forum is all you have in life. Chief.

I cant see Fury taking on someone as tough of challenge as Pulev or Parker.

I reckon it be somone like Charr (how long is he banned for?) Or Trevor Bryan.

What perch is this? Financially? Nah, not interested in fighters finances chief. I stick up for Fury on here because clowns act as if he's unpopular.

As regards legacy, I believe it's AJ who has to knock Fury off his perch. Fury won the belts before AJ, beating the no.1 champion, and disappeared undefeated. In his comeback, he has already faced and beat the one man in the sport everyone wanted AJ to face. Although the judges obviously took the victory from him.

I think AJ is brilliant by the way, but Fury is ahead of AJ for me, and will be until AJ defeats Wilder or indeed Fury.
