If it were my way we'd have Whyte Fury at the end of the year. I'm sure Fury more than anyone wants to deal with Whyte.

12 fights I think Whyte has won since AJ, the mans earned his shot @ the WBC belt.I think Whyte should have had this before Fury v Wilder. It's time for Fury to fight him & get this dust up done.

... but when Wilder sucker punched that ESPN mascot, that was a legit knockout though.

No doubt his people spent 30 minutes trying to explain to him why he couldn't add the mascot win onto his professional record.

Fury will travel to Albania to fight Sefer Seferi. I heard Gjerdjai the cobra is available on short notice (he doesn't plan on training anyway).

Exactly, people seem to forget Fury already vacated a belt so he didn't have to fight Price, at a time Price was very highly rated and Fury dropped the British title went and fought for the Irish title against Martin Rogan.

There is a history of this, now as time went on Fuy proved to be the much better fighter and so nobody gives that a second thought.

But the facts are Price was knocking everybody out he was 12-0 (10 KO) and Price went and fought Sam Sexton for the vacant British title.

Fury was supposed to fight Ustinov, late replacement, Fury looked at Ustinov on the scales and madea comment basically saying people were trying to "fit him up" and pulled out very late because his Uncle fell ill.

Now, while family is ultimate and I personally have zero problems with it, many people thought Furys comment about "being fitted up" and then the late pull out was rather suspect.

So now we have Whyte, Fury doesn't seem keen on facing him whatsoever, he says he will vacate rather than face Whyte? Why? I don't see how this can be acceptable if Fury goes and fights in a much smaller fight.

If Fury vacates to fight AJ next then fine, I would understand, I'd be disappointed because I'd like to see all the belts on the line between two British heavyweights but I'd understand because it's still a bigger fight.

But if Fury vacates, goes and has a "keep busy" fight instead of a multi million pound payday against a ordered mandatory challenger then he can't be given a pass.

Simply, because nobody else would, it would be called a duck, that simple, if AJ drops the WBO to not fight Usyk and goes and fights Robert Helenius or Charles Martin II.

Are you telling me Fury and his fans wouldn't call it a duck? Of course they would, I would, I think most people would.

As good as Fury is, and he is excellent, the same rules must apply.

I can see it happening, sometimes fighters just go pop after a first defeat, and that defeat wasn't close, wasn't controversial, it was a onesided beating, so mentally Wilder has it all to do.

You would think Wilder would have rested up, got back in the gym, posted lots of stuff of him training and looking solid.. giving all the old hashtags "the comeback", "revenge" "stronger than ever".. all that old cliched rubbish.

But No, we've seen him twerking and heard of him complaining about dents in his head.

Doesn't look good, but I won't write him off but I could definitely see Wilder getting a "tune up" and seriously struggling, he will have to get up for it mentally also after a run of big fights.

Yeh, I agree with this assessment. I remember the Ustinov situation, as well as Ortiz finding a way not to fight Ustinov, which ended badly for Ortiz over the long run.

I'm not really a hardcore boxing fan, as much as a sports fan who follows mostly higher weight boxing as one of my top interest sports (I played other sports but did some boxing for fitness). But I have been following boxing long enough to have seen fighters, who are a big deal at a moment of time, miss their window to build a legacy which carries them respect long after they fight their final fight. Fury is possibly wasting his window. As much as I like Fury for many reasons, Wlad was past prime and Wilder was always a bit of a pseudo champ.

IMO great champs have a good set of high second tier wins behind their career defining wins. Joshua actually has these to an extent ... Fury hasn't really got that. Wlad, Lewis and other greats of the division really didn't leave too top HWs of their era out ... and Wlad even took on Fury/Joshua when past prime ... past prime Lewis reluctantly took on Vitali.

That was his second best win after the hooker Las Vegas.

Sweet jumping Jesus Christ on a bicycle.

It is not a matter of whether Whyte SHOULD get a shot. We all agree on that, provided of course he beats Povetkin this weekend. It is a matter of FINANCIAL FEASIBILITY.

I don't mean to be insulting to you, but do you have any financial responsibility in your life? Do you pay a mortgage, or rent? Do you have a job? Do you run even a lemonade stand?

THE MONEY ISN'T GOING TO BE THERE BECAUSE OF COVID.

It isn't hard to understand. Yes, Whyte SHOULD get a shot, but Fury is not going to fight IF THE MONEY ISN'T THERE, and no one will promote it IF THEY CAN'T HAVE A LIVE GATE, BECAUSE THERE WON'T BE ANY MONEY.

    Money!

    Money.
