sur running a drug empire and dealing with Sosa and the lads doesn't leave much time for training

Reason fury wasn't training for this fight is because he was having trouble with Lopez, now he's out of the picture.

won't be long now before fury will be opening up chains of hair salons and buying pet tigers

He's shown you can't really trust anything he says, he's always trying to spin it some way to hide something. He's probably been told he is going to be stripped of his belts or at least one of them, so he's vacating so it seems like it was his decision rather than being imposed on him.

Oh boy what an exciting 'champion'. Can't even get in the ring for his 1st defense. Can anyone remember all the hyped up posts around here we got 1 year ago?

I wonder if retiring will get him out of the rematch clause? It will vacate all his titles including the ring

What a surprise he's blaming everyone but himself for the situation he's in. He is a pathetic man child and I for one hope he is not telling yet another lie, and is genuinely retiring.

Yes this, even a chump like Tyson Fury would get forgiven if he came out and said he's **** up he'd have some sympathy but that's just not Fury is it?

He won't stay retired and I hope he doesn't as I'm not sure I could cope with hearing him repeatedly saying 'I'm the true champ'... 'never lost the titles in the ring'... 'never been beaten' etc etc.

True champions show their worth not in victory but in dealing with defeat. Fury liked to mock Lennox Lewis, but when Lewis lost he came back and avenged them both. And he sustained a career at the top for years, not just one fight.

Not dismissing the impact of bipolar, I would still argue Fury is scared of losing as much as he is disillusioned with boxing.

I've followed him for years, I even asked my friends to stay in so I could watch him on NBC while I was on Holiday in Florida! But I'm done with Fury after all this, if that weak twat can't get motivated over a multi million pound payday I have little sympathy for him.

You can have all the character in the world but if you're not going to fight then **** off and don't come back.

Lewis didn't retire Vitali's surgeon though, he helped pay for his new Ferrari...
