The Wilder of 2019 would have obliterated Whyte.

Against AJ ? I don't know ..... AJ might have got him out of there quick, but the longer it goes the odds swing towards a Wilder win.

But Wilder now ? Who knows ?
He seems to have lost his mind after the Fury beating. And he's already 35 years old. I won't be surprised if he never comes back.

Aj likely destroys Wilder. Wilder would probably beat wild swinging Whyte though

Wilder has faced only two top class opponents in his life. Fury and Ortiz, although Ortiz is arguable because his only notable match up was against Wilder who beat him twice when he was around 40.

Ortiz almost TKO'd him first fight, 2nd fight he was dominated and took 7 rounds to get a decent shot in.

Against half fit Fury he got well beaten, against fully fit Fury he was absolutely annihilated.

Wilder, in my opinion, would get slaughtered by Joshua. Even Povetkin 2-3 years ago would slaughter Wilder. Anyone who puts educated pressure together Wilder struggles massively.

Fury says a lot of crazy things but it appears he is serious. There is a chance he is building up Wilder because it makes his two victories over him (you know he won the first fight) more impressive but it’s easy to overlook Wilder’s power as most fans seem to be doing these days.

Usyk Wilder would be a great contrast in styles. One guy is a super powerful slugger with limited boxing skills and the other a very good technical boxer and southpaw with limited punching power at HW. Risky fight for both guys and since Wilder no longer has a belt, I wouldn’t blame Usyk for not pursuing the fight. And he still has to get through Joyce which is going to be difficult and far from guaranteed.

Like him or not, Wilder in the mix makes HW boxing way more exciting for me. I hope the last fight, brutal beating, didn’t ruin his aggressiveness, desire and confidence. His reputation as a bum killer is well earned but the man has historic power and is always one punch away from ending a fight.

Hopefully we get our answers in the ring, so we don’t have to argue “what if” scenarios on Internet forums for the next decade. I’m tired of that bull****.
