Tyson Fury spotted in crowd watching Anthony Crolla vs Jorge Linares

His being "mentally unfit" consists of him lacking motivation and self-control to diet and train for an upcoming fight.....Not to mention his refusal to be tested for illegal substances


What a fiasco this guy is

 

I'm sure he's not the only man in the crowd who is medically unfit to fight and/or mentally ill.

 

The pullout in June and this one are both dubious at best. First the alleged injured ankle he was spotted jumping on and now attending a boxing match when he is supposed to be in such horrific mental state that he can't even prepare for a fight. The timing of both pullouts have been extremely suspicious too, 1st one came on the eve of UKAD charging him for a failed drug test and this one came right before the prefight VADA testing which Fury didn't want to do.

 

If he is proven to be on the drug in question for the fight last year when he won the titles, wouldn't he be stripped for that alone ?

 

I agree with this.
The problem is, for all Tyson Fury's talk about being a "real fighter" I think it is becoming clear that he probably got good at boxing for the WRONG REASONS.
He's less interested in being a great fighter and great champion, he's more interested in being ADORED as an entertainer and showman. He's obviously way too sensitive to the fact that he's unloved and underappreciated by the media and the public at large, and is so upset about being 'misunderstood'.

Many of the great fighters had similar issues surrounding inflated ego, but they had enough grip on the idea of "just doing the job" that they perservered.

 

What a disgrace to the sport.

 

Fury has no self-discipline and can't go through personal adversity. Typically, depressed can't handle stress and go into tantrums over minor issues in life. Now imagine a bipolar guy like Fury feeling the pressure from an upcoming title defense and PED investigation. He was probably breaking under the pressure as he couldn't take it.

He was fine coming in as the underdog, going to Wlad's backyard. But the pressure and spotlight was really on him now.

 

I think it's mostly due to his avoidance of being tested and proven a cheat

IMO, it has nothing to do with being mentally unfit; it has to do with being proven a cheater and having his title taken
