To make a very loose point in that he is only considered worthy of a title shot, not because he is a fantastic fighter, but because he fights in such a weak division/era.

A point you have decided to take as comment on other eras rather than an opinion on Tyson Fury's greatness as a fighter.

    Mountain and mole hill.

Chisora was in awful...... I mean absolutely awful condition when he fought Fury.... and Your point about Thompson is mute.... kingpin didn't even try to fight.
Johnson over Thompson... thats v v debatable!

it doesn't make any sense though.

Historically there would be nothing wrong with him challenging for the title.

    He's not a bad fighter.

The best thing about Price fans is the majority of them only are fans of him because they are from the same city. They can't have constructive debate about him because they refuse to see his flaws. One told me at work the other week he would beat Wladimir if they fought next. ****ing delusional bunch, he will be exposed when he steps up

Johnson only goes into "safety pin" mode when his opponents make him.

Check his previous "real" fight against a dangerous fighter Alex Leapai for evidence of what Johnson can do if you are not a world level heayweight.

As for the Chisora thing, yeah he was overweight, but the win still counts.

There is a reason why Fury is ranked higher than Price.

Thompson isn't a bad opponent per se, but I do think at 29 years old, Price needs to be moving along at better pace, and I don't see thompson as a useful fight for him, I can't see him learning anything, Thompson will most likely go over and not bother getting up off the first decent right hand that lands.

Wonder how much power Fury will have now he's lost a few stone?

Exactly as I thought. You don't know what you're talking about.

You seemed to insinuate he hadn't enough fights as well, am I wrong?

If Price K.O's Thompson early doors he over takes any ranking Fury has IMO.

Fight wont happen unless one of em has a world title, if Vitali retires and Haye isnt interested, then why arnt Price's team looking at getting on the WBC route?...If Vitali does retire the WBC is the only belt Wlad hasnt got, hes gonna want it once it goes vacant.

WBC is the way to go right now for a shot at Wlad.

Good thing you don't decide the rankings then

I think it would be a tad easier to just become his IBF,WBA or WBO mandatory in fairness.

Maybe so pal, but if he can get the green belt, hes got better bargain terms if he can get a Wlad fight down the line.

Vitali is ready to be taken imo.

He's looked awful for a couple of years now, power is gone, legs are gone, joints are stiff. I know i'm in the minority but for me he's looking every one of his 41 years

    I agree.
Thompson is easily as credible an opponent as Kevin Johnson.
If Price can KO Thompson early, he has to be rated above Fury.
    It's a big "IF" though.
