I wonder if they have an agreement to fight but it's dependent on naming a venue within a certain period of time. If that expires, so does their agreement and then Fury can go ahead and fight a tickover opponent which I think is what he really wants. If that brings him closer to the end of his current Top Rank deal, then it could be worth big money for him. Imagine if he's a free agent and can entertain bids from Hearn, Arum and Haymon for his signature on a fight?
The agreement was 30 days to confirm a venue otherwise the Joshua fight isn't happening. Fury tweeting this isn't a good sign.
Tim Bradley said on Max on Boxing that he had inside sources telling him the fight won't happen. And this further shows it probably won't. Hearn seems to be far more positive than everyone else on this.
Maybe cos Eddie clauses? Eddie loves clauses even in fights he does call as eliminator fight vs old uncles.
Fury is always getting dicked around by the Money fighter. Sad, really. A decade ago it was all the YEARS of Haye shenanigans
Hmm, just watched a bit of this and now I'm thinking this may not happen... I get that some of the chat this way and that is just promotion. So a soap opera around getting it signed isn't proof in itself that there's an issue. However, the stuff about 250m then 400m for the fight makes me think that this is related to Fury being locked in to the Top Rank deal. I think Top Rank have paid Fury a fortune for a series of fights that havent grossed much with the expectation that the final fight with AJ would be their cash out. Fury on the other hand I think wants the AJ fight riches to come to him rather than Top Rank. So I wonder if there's some brinksmanship at work?
