His presence alone throws his opposition off but his resume is very very thin. I think he cheated us with the layoff as he was peaking after winning the biggest fight of his career.
I would love to see him get his aze in shape and truly return but I don't think he will and that is a shame IMO

Failure is not an option remember? No way he went into that fight not caring about winning after everything Fury put him through pre-fight.
Plus , had Wlad won , he would have surpassed Larry Holmes in title defenses. He knew what was on the line. Winning that fight meant everything to Wlad.

The first proposed rematch he pulled out because of the ticket sales were so bad and he was never going to make the rearranged rematch but they still went ahead and agreed to the fight. In fact they held a press conference when Fury didn't even turn up and claimed his car broke down knowing full well he was in no shape to fight anyone.

Call it unwell. I call it coke snorting, alcohol drinking, unhealthy living.

The point still stands he defended his titles zero times and lost any kind of claim to be called 'champion'.

wlad surprised me in the fight i have watched all his fights from when he was an up and commer on german tv till the joshua fight / at 41 years of age coming of a **** fight v fury where he bought every fury feint and played possum and then gave that type of performance and effort v joshua.

yes 41 is old for a fighter albeit he was in tip top shape /and the fact that he blew his load early on in his career trying to ko fighters like brewster made him reluctant to unload the kitchen sink when he has fighters hurt as his career progressed hurt him v joshia but that was a very good version of wlad we saw.

Tyson Fury has a brother called Hugh Fury who boxed as "Young Fury".
But the Hughie Fury who boxed Joseph Parker is his cousin.

(Hughie's father Peter is brother of Tyson's father John.
John and Peter also had a brother called Hughie, who died a couple of year's back.)
