Look regarding my arguments that he ducked rematches without no evidence or whatever, you on the flip side do not have evidence that Lewis avoided rematches.

Actually I DO have evidence that Lewis ducked a rematch with Vitali and I’ve already stated such and Mercer begged Lewis for another go and Lewis went on to fight imo Akinwande in one of the worst heavyweight fights in history.

As for Lewis he’s a great fighter, a flawed fighter as every fighter is, I don’t like or dislike him as I do not know him, but he is great. The current second greatest British heavyweight champion ever.

No, you just brought up a promise made 5 minutes after a fight ended. LL retired. Had he gone on to fight someone else, you might have a point. But you just have some fanboy hatred of LL to go with.

Who cares if Mercer begged. It was just a regular fight. If a title was at stake, might have more weight to it. You're just all over the place w/ your hatred of Lewis. t

But I am unbiased, I think one should look at ones self about bias when regarding Lewis, which you have been noted for before.

You didn’t “show me” anything regarding Mercer’s career post Lewis, you said it was poor, I actually agree as although he fought Witherspoon who was much better than Akinwande, he was asking for the rematch once Lewis had beaten McCall and ended not fighting for iirc 2 years?

But my point still stands that in MY opinion, Lewis never wanted to face Mercer again. He gave him his toughest fight, much tougher than journeyman Mike Tyson who Lewis was going to take to court to force a rematch literally nobody was interested in.

As for Vitali, Lewis won the fight but ducked the rematch.

 

Dude...doesn't matter who fought what you consider a better next opponent. The hell does that have to do with a rematch? Mercer had a close fight. And you think every close fight deserves a rematch? Even if Mercer did hypothetically....he did NOTHING to warrant one after his abysmal comp.
