I feel like the people getting most giddy about the retirement were those terrified he is going to clear out the division and were just 'hoping' he would retire. The mans going nowhere soon and will fight and beat both Usyk and AJ before he finishes.
So my guess for possible opponents, if this is announced today, is Charr, Kabeyel, Chisora III, Miller, Thor, Ngannu, an unidentified brick-layer from Manchester, or maybe, just maybe, some unfinished business with David Haye, Alexander Ustinov, or Coleman Barret.
Chin, I am not trying to start a fight with you on this, but I don's see how this can be. For him to announce the fight, negotiations would have to be done or deep. How can he negotiate if he doesn't know the winner? Also, it would not be in character with Fury to take a hot fight when there is a mega fight in the offing. With Fury, it is the best or garbage. If I am wrong, I am wrong. Rather, it will be some crap fight like Charr.
It will be Kabayel. Fury was going to use him for a filler fight but the promoters wet themselves and didn't push it through. They're all on social media right now begging for it lol.
I kinda rate Kabayel. He seems pretty tough and always tries to box even though he probably could brawl pretty well. Given Fury likes him because he's given decent sparing I suspect Fury will drag him the distance. Practice his outboxing against another 6'3" man. All about activity. Fury can get world class sparring but sparring is just sparring, there needs to be that little element of risk to make it worthwhile.
We agree on this one. Fury's next fight should be something of a soft touch, as it is a tune-up for a mega-fight. Kabeyal is ranked, has a decent win over Chisora, and would be a better fight than Charr, Chisora III, Thor or Ngannu. If this is so, let's see it booked.
