Reread the post, this time read the whole post.

I already addressed retirement and acknowledgment and gave an example. Fury wouldn't be the first lineal to retire, he'd not be the longest retired lineal to come back, and Joshua's four title fights would not be the most amount of championship matches to go unacknowledged by a lineal.

Until Tyson Fury agrees with the idea that Anthony Joshua is lineal AJ can not be lineal. Retiring does not equate to a lineage being retired, you are assuming. Retiring a lineage can only happen once a career is over. Just because a fighter says it's over doesn't mean it is. Like I said at the start, Fury would not be the first lineal to retire and reclaim. There is nothing AJ can do to earn Fury's position until Fury gives it up or is for sure retired, like he becomes a cripple or dies or some such.

It was one of the major reasonings behind trucking out ol' Jim Jeffries against Jack Johnson. Had Jeffries won neither Hart nor Burns would have be considered lineal title holders and those fights would have lost their lineal championship status after they had happened exactly like the Bowen-Burke-Ward affair I already explained.

Or **** do I know....sure pal-o, I outline every champion in history, I'm the only mother ****er on here who explains sanctioning bodies while the rest of you share yer assumptions, probably the world's foremost in medieval boxing but yeah....I missed what it means to retire and forfeit. Sure, that makes sense. I somehow became familiar with the stories but missed what retirement means...sure.

I'll leave you with this, when youse step to me to tell me I'm wrong do you ever question typing out your assumptions? I get that more often than not forum posting is one assumption against another but what I'm talking about is 300 years of history. Either it happened or it didn't so why the **** are you stepping to me with assumption? No, Fury's retirement did not forfeit his lineal claim. 300 years of ****ing HW history is my god damn proof, say something.

I totally believe you, but it made me think what happens if Lennox comes out of retirement and beats Joshua, does that mean Klitschko and Fury were never lineal? Or if Joshua beats Lewis does Joshua become lineal or does he still have to wait on Fury?

And if other rules have changed London Prize Fighting to Queensbury, weight classes, rounds etc. then why can't this one change???

Sounds odd how someone serving a 2 year suspension for steroids is their lineal champ..

Yeah, Lennox could come out of retirement and claim he's still the true champion thereby making all champions post Lennox pretenders or claimants at best to the lineal crown. I know it sounds childish but that is the way it's been since boxing has been called boxing.

Nope, the rules of lineal do not change with the rules set used. What makes the sport started by Spartans with rules first written by an Anatolian nearly three thousand years ago before boxing was ever a word boxing? What I mean is there's a whole lot of ancient face punching from all over the planet, but this particular ancient face punching is boxing because why? Why is LPRR boxing where as it's ******* coustin Rough 'n Tumble is not even though it claims to be? Why was Figg's face punching boxing but what was going on in Italy wasn't?

I 'm not asking a bunch of rhetorical questions to be a dick I'm just trying to get you thinking in the right frame of mind. The answer is tradition. From 686 BC to right now this sport has traditions that go unbroken regardless of the rules that evolve around them. The tradition of lineal was started by Figg and his boys during the English rebirth in the early-mid 18th century. It's informal, there are no rules there is only precedence.

There wouldn't be a modern example of arguments over who is and isn't lineal because lineal doesn't matter anymore. When Ward and Burke were champions lineal was all there was. It wasn't called lineal either it was simply how prizefighting dealt with championship status.

I'll do a whole thread on it.

They let him keep it this long, now Fury's training, says he's looking at an April return, specifically proudly states he's looking forward to defending his Ring championship... and Ring threatens to strip him? Instead Ring should be stating that Fury returning proves they were correct allowing him to retain championship status. He never lost the championship in the ring, he never truly retired, which twitter rants can't constitute, he was only forced into inactivity by the BBBC on grounds not covered by the Ring's championship policy. The point of a policy recognising lineal championships is to be as lenient as reasonably possible. Tyson Fury is the true heavyweight champion, deal with it.

I look forward to it. You have been most informative and it is appreciated. Now with all these punching arts you ar familiar with I wonder if you could please let me know the name of the African punching art where they only use on really hard glove. It's been bugging me.

I'm sorry if you have been suspended for steroids abuse for two years.. You don't deserve to be called a champ.
