He did a 100 meter sprint in 10 seconds odd. He's a world class athlete.

Hilarious. You're talking about Whyte like he's some heavyweight version of Manny Pac. He can't even throw a jab properly, let alone string a combo together.

Athlete yes - the question above was about decathletes. Realise I'm being pretty anal here and accept Joshua is clearly athletic.

I guess the comparison I'm trying to make is Usyk, who clearly trains in a variety of novel ways (his videos, and Lomachenko's, show that) which suggest all-round aerobic fitness, strength, speed, mental agility, etc; versus someone like Joshua, who seems to live in the boxing gym alone.

Lol yes, that's exactly what I was saying. Whyte is like Manny Pac.

Events in a decathlon - 100 metres, long jump, shot put, high jump, 400 metres, 110 metre hurdles, discuss throw, pole vault, javelin, 1500 metres.

Joshua would absolutely **** on both Usyk and Fury if they competed in the above events, the only one either of them might win would be the 1500 metres. Usyk and Fury are better boxers, and are more fluid and relaxed in the ring, which saves energy. Joshua is someone who run close to a ten second 100 metres with minimal training.

I can imagine he would gas out before the end of first day on decathlon. "I'm not a 400 metre runner! Look at me! I'm heavy it's hard work"
storm off in a fit of frustration & doubtful we see him on day two.
he be catching the plane home with cousin Benga.

    seriously
not sure how anyone thinks they can extrapolate his shot put or javelin or pole vault or discus from the fact that he ran fast

I saw him do the 100 metres in 11.53 on Superstars
which is a long long way behind a 10 second man.

impressive time but come on let's try keep to reality. or maybe I missed the one where he did it close to 10 seconds?

Because there is a lot of crossover between the muscle groups... if someone is big, and can run 100 metres in an elite time, there is a very good chance they would do well in explosive events.

I suppose therein lies the issue with Joshua. He's built like a sprinter but boxing is a marathon.

I still have my doubts he could beat Usyk in particular at a Decathlon but I'll admit 11.53 is an impressive 100m time.

One things for certain; prime Daley Thompson would make prime AJ QUIT in a boxing ring worse than the obese little Mexican fella did.

Haha this is gold. We are now talking about who AJ could beat in a decathlon?

even if that was true you have no idea how fast Usyk or Fury do 100 metres.
and no, AJ doesn't have an "elite time" in any track event

there's actually a very good chance AJ would be absolutely **** at some of those events. because that's how things are.
but for some reason you are so certain he'd beat both Usyk and Fury in 9 of those 10 events .
    it makes no sense

I'd be very surprised if any of them could do a decathlon. or the events individually.
it's a ridiculous discussion. if any of them has a proper and verifiable track & field background it becomes a discussion. but currently all it is is a guy with pretty muscles and ran 11.53 over 100 against a Ukrainian who plays a bit of football and a big gypsy. not much to go on.
