There's always something with Matchroom and Joshua when it comes to the big names though.

But they were only meeting with the broadcasters today…

Both fighters have contractual obligations that require talks to sort out. You can’t blame Joshua when Fury has put an unrealistic deadline on proceedings.

All Hearn has said on the contract is 'it's in the wrong format' No statements on dodgy terms that need negotiating just that apparently they've used the wrong font or something. If that's the worst thing he can come up with, given he is a world class liar, then to me it looks like DAZN and Matchroom have scuppered it. They want to juice the golden goose for another 12-18 months and that isn't going to happen if he loses to Fury right away.

I think fury has played a blinder. All the hotels in Cardiff will be booked up for fury v Joshua. A lot will keep the hotels and go anyway. What can they do that night? Watch fury beat charr at the boxing.

As far as the contract goes it just shows how difficult these fights are to make. So much with broadcasters, promoter's, the fighters and the lawyers. I'm surprised any fight takes place. I'm still waiting on an official announcement of spence v Crawford so its not that easy the other side of the pond either.

    it's not unrealistic.
    harsh but not unrealistic.
it's basic stuff for the boxers. 60-40 on all the available revenue to the boxers. a 50-50 split on a rematch clause.
    venue and date is done.
    & It's a good deal all round.

the broadcasters can settle their deal separately. whatever they agree to will be a boatload of money for the boxers. worse case scenario they can't agree and it falls through but there is absolutely no reason the boxers cannot sign.

I think Joshua is keen to sign but he has advisers working against that interest.

I doubt Joshua can sign anything without DAZN’s agreement.

Yeah they're tough negotiators. Even "easy" fights to make like Usyk took months and months of negotiation. Its the main reason Joshua is so inactive.

Kick Hearn and Fury out of negotiations and it’d probably get made.

    Pathetic all around really
Boxing needs to follow the ufcs lead, the best fight the best, they don't need to wait till one or both fighters are over the hill I.e Khan v brook and manny v floyd

It’s 2022 and Anthony Joshua hasn’t fought Deontay Wilder or Tyson Fury, even though they’ve both had a trilogy.

As much as Fury sets unrealistic deadlines there is a problem in AJs side, he’s the only common denominator in this.

Dillian Whyte - Very green & bad shoulder, had shoulder surgery two days after the fight.
Charles Martin - Worst champ of this era
    Dominic Breazeale - come on
Eric Molina - School teacher part time fighter
Wladimir Klitschko - 18 months inactive coming off a loss
Carlos Takam - It was surprising the amount of success Takam had
Joseph Parker - Good win, bad ref
    Alexander Povetkin - Good win
    Andy Ruiz - Loss
Andy Ruiz - Good win showed ability to adapt
Kubrat Pulev - Way past his best
Oleksander Usyk - Loss! Tried to outbox the boxer
Oleksander Usyk - Loss! Did the same thing as the last fight

How is it possible in all this he doesn’t have Fury or Wilder even once? Anyone that thinks It’s always the other side and they’re all afraid of AJ is out of their mind. AJs in a similar position to Canelo, he’s the money fight of the division.
