I think Fury would win every round, and as stoppage would not be at all out of the question given that Norton did not take a punch well. I don't mean to degrade Norton, who really was part of a great era, and gave us some entertaining fights. But basically his entire career was being an awkward fight for a slowed-down version of Ali. He also had the good wins against Jimmy Young, Duane Bobick, and Jerry Quarry, but we all know what happened just about every time he faced a puncher, and he's got a KO loss to Jose Luis Garcia. How would his awkwardness help him against maybe the most awkward heavyweight ever? A guy who can switch-up, infight, jab and move from the outside, and all of his at 6'9"? What would happen if Fury decided to use his new Kronk style? And we know that Norton is not going to win with one punch...Fury has some of the best recuperative powers since Joe Louis, or at least Larry Holmes. Fury just too many tools.
I reluctantly pick Fury. Although Norton is a truly awful style for him, Fury is just too big and too versatile. Norton really struggled if you put him on the back foot, Fury showed he could do that just fine last month.
I think Norton wins on points. Fury is huge, but, overrated. Just like Wilder was. A prime Wlad would have busted Fury up, as well.
After Fury KO's AJ WITH EASE in 2021 everyone will be talking about where he ranks in the Top 5 of all time. Each generation has stand outs, Fury is leagues ahead of this generation. Go and watch Vitali, Wlad and Lennox against their "toughest" opponents and compare it to Fury when he fought his toughest When Fury gets a challenge he absolutely destroys it.
Who are "prime" Wlad's best wins? Exactly...nobody and he fought exactly the same, 1,2 left hook clinch. USELESS ROBOT. Wlad is smart to not throw a punch because if he opened up Fury would have stopped a gassed Wlad late.
I believe Fury will beat AJ. But that wouldn't put him in the top 5 of all time heavyweights. There are plenty of fighters that held the title for years. Victories over a past his prime Wald, Wilder and AJ don't make you top 5 material.
It's Wladimir Klitschko, who is overrated. Wins over Jean Marc Mormeck, Alex Leapai, Francesco Pianeta, Sultan Ibragimov, Ray Austin and Calvin Brock are hilarious, when discussing "legacy". He was also knocked out by Ross Purrity, who was an American Football player and so-called non-puncher, Lamont Brewster and Corrie Sanders, none of which are top tier opposition. He was then outclassed by an inexperienced Tyson Fury, in his own back yard.
This. Fury 9/10..One thing is, Norton has underrated power, no Foreman, but Tyson could definitely kiss the canvas
I agree Wlad is overrated. But, that doesn't mean he isn't better than Fury. The version of wlad that fury faced was a shell of his former self. it was a shameful display by BOTH men. One of the worst heavyweight title fights in history.
