****ing hell. Fury has fought no-one yet, and people are suggesting not only should he fight McCall, but that its a foregone conclusion he'd win, and someone even suggested he'd stop him.:nut He should be allowed no-where near McCall, who could potentially ruin Fury at this stage of his career. McCall can still really, really punch, and has an iron chin. He can absorb a beating to land 1 goodnight punch, ask Akinwande. Horrible, horrible fight for a novice pro. Some sparring might be an idea, but no way a real fight.
Bad idea for him at this stage imo. McCall may be old but the two things that make him dangerous are exactly the things he still has. Power and chin. It would be a huge step up for Fury. He should clear out the domestic scene first before he starts to go after former world champs.
Fury can beat McCall, but it is a dangerous fight if McCall lands a lucky punch. It's not worth the risk. Fury needs to get more fight under his belt.
I don't believe in wrapping fighters in cotton wool, especially when they are as mouthy as Tyson Fury. David Haye learned more from losing to Thompson than he did fighting stiffs. Same goes for Amir Khan. He's only 20 and it would be great experience for him. If he wins, then great name on the resume. If he gets hammered then he'll realize he's not the mega fighter he thinks he is.
Bad, bad, bad, BAAAAAAAAAAAD move for Fury McCall wont get kayoed by Tyson Fury, and he's too experienced to be decisioned. Hell this guy just knocked out Hoppoate, and before that lost a decision to Gomez who challenged Vitali for the title. Way over his head on this one. He needs to fight Price, Rogan, Chisorda, Sexton, Harrison and Williams. Not take a massive leap like this, so early on in his career!
No such thing as a lucky punch mate. At times Fury looks to worried about whats coming back at him to be able to handle someone with the strength and experience of a Mcall at this stage
Poor Hopoate trying to trade with McCall. The guy actually stunned McCall and made him hold for a second. What a nutter. He decided his own fate when he chose to try and stop McCall rather than outpoint him. McCall would be a perfect fight for Fury if Fury wanted a quick route to the world stage. Going the traditional route would have all the experience building fights Fury would need to prepare him. If Fury fights Skelton, Rogan, Williams, Sprott, Harrison, Price etc he will have been prepared for all types of fights.
Couldn't understand why he was on the front of boxing news, he's getting more exposure than any of the Olympians, including David Price who beat him! I was semi impressed with him in his last fight, but his name has gotten him on the front of magazines and newspapers more than anything. No point going for Oliver McCall, he should go for the British first.
Fury does deserve the exposure because he is doing what a prospect should be doing to create that snowball effect. Benn, Tyson and many others have done this. Create a media image but simulataneously fight often and perform. 6 wins, 6 kos and all in 6 months speaks volumes.
