I don't care about any sanctioning body's rankings or Boxrec's rankings. Use boxrec to find out who's on their resume and make a judgement from there. I'm ranking Kabayel at top 20 minimum based on what he's achieved.

So you're saying that post Ruiz loss AJ was #2 in the division while Ruiz was #1? That's the only way you could say the rematch determined the lineal champ which is an absolute joke of an assertion tbh. Neither were top 2 at the time, let alone both of them.

Then Sir, I ask to see your top 20 because Kabayel has not earned a spot there. It's clear to me there are 20 better in heavyweight boxing.

While I'm at it, where did you rate Swartz and Wallin?

No, there is no such ruling. It's a contract with a date on it. For example when Lewis offered Vitali Klitschko a match for the real title, Vitali took it on 2 weeks notice. The challenger could accept or decline. If he makes a stink of it, another person is selected.

No.. Many guys have challenged for a world title on just a weeks notice. Plus , its ridiculous to claim Kayabel hasn't been given enough time to prepare.
He would have known months ago he was on a shortlist of potential challengers. Even this forum knew weeks back , but this Medoz guy thinks Kayabel himself had no idea!! lol

Chisora is his best win, but he hasn't really followed it up. He could be in the top ten now if he had the same sort of drive as Michael Hunter. I actually think he's more skilled than Hunter, but Hunter has the drive. Kabayel is a bit complacent IMO.

Kabayel can certainly punch. He legit dropped Rudenko with a body shot, the only man physically tougher than Wach in the HW division. His punch mechanics and weight transference are excellent, as are his timing and accuracy. He's not the strongest or most explosive guy but he's no featherfist.

What does it even mean "fights to the level of his opponent"? Fury is just overrated. This is why he struggles even with low ranked fighters.
He is not some kind of genius, who fights like garbage on purpose lol

That's the thing he's most guilty of for certain. It'd be my biggest criticism of him too and you're right, he could've easily established himself as top 10 following the Chisora win, Helenius would've been a perfect European title defence for example.

Schwarz and Wallin resided around 30-40th on the rankings.
    My top 20 at heavyweight goes;
    Fury
    Joshua
    Wilder
    Povetkin
    Ruiz
    Whyte
    Parker
    Hunter
    Usyk
    Pulev
    Ortiz
    Rivas
    Helenius
    Martin
    Kabayel
    Joyce
    Kownacki
    Chisora
    Washington
    Yoka
(Breazeale, Dubois, Bakole, Hrgovic, H. Fury, Jennings and Ajagba are tossups for the rest of the top 25.)

    Happy now?

    Completely agree.
Some here are acting like it's a joke fight or that Kaba isn't a worthy fighter. It's the old forum if you're not top 10 in the world and rising you're a "bum" BS.

You noted Ali vs KM. Ali made many defenses vs. no hoper's* (and what today would be CWs) and he's a HW "God" to some on here.

    * Not saying KM was a no hoper, but close to it.

    Yup.

To the haters, Kabayel is the second best choice available, a credible guy, the obvious choice due to promotional ties, and--wait for it--he will be the third to fifth best name on fury's resume.

    1. Wlad
    2. Wilder
    3. Kabayel, Chisora, or Cunningham.

Kabayel beat Chisora, but I guess you can make the argument that Del Boy has a better body of work. I like Cunningham over Chisora myself, as I feel he got screwed against Adamek, and maybe Glazkov, and should have been a bigger deal at heavy, but in any event, cruiserweight champ is nothing to frown at.

In any event,a credible stay busy.

Not bad for a short notice fight. I wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up being competitive.

I think one factor may be that Kabayel was easy to negotiate a contingency plan if something went wrong. A rematch or whatever.

The last thing Fury needs is to cop a loss, maybe due to a cut or something, and not be able to get an 'as soon as possible' rematch for WBC prior to Joshua.
