2 fighters without power and just jabbing each other. This fight is going 12 and it won't be an exciting one.

Ah. I know fighters get tickets for their friends and family, but I'm not familiar with them getting such a share of them as that. Pretty common in the UK?

Not sure how things work in the US, but in Ireland & the UK while you can buy tickets direct from the promoter, fighters will always sell tickets directly themselves. If they're lucky their manager, and friends/family will sort most of the sales and leave them to their training and promoting the fight.

Fighters lower down the levels (below British title level) won't get normal purses unless they're a major prospect or former talented amateur. Instead they'll often have to sell 40 odd tickets just to pay for their opponent, and only start earning from tickets they sell beyond that.

As if boxing isn't tough enough a sport to do well in as it is...

Skeete boxing very well, Gavin had a decent second. Nothing between them after two.

No promoters personally give them tickets to sell. Only big PPV stars and journey men don't have to worry about selling tickets. I thought you would have known that. Do you not know any boxers who have sold you tickets. y

The fact Gavin can’t be ****d to lose 7 pounds to fight at light-welter matters much more than his amateur career to me.
