Hopefully everything about this fight flops big time.

    What a pile of sheet.

I think it's a dreadful fight. I really think everyone is quite scared of Fury and his erratic antics. Sometimes, at interviews and build ups, you see Brick Top sniggering along with Tyson and it looks like he's been totally emasculated. Same with interviews, either MSM or YouTube variety. Nobody wants to say boo to Tyson in case he makes them look silly, in the moment, on camera.

It means Fury has got away with far too many 'nothing' fights, and it's a shame to see people compare his resume favourably to Joshua imo. This is the one area where Hearn / AJ have a serious point. Fury has fought two and a half opponents (assuming we want to class him as 'elite' or 'best of generation'). An ageing Klitchko, coming off the back of a terrible camp. Great performance. And Wilder. Let's not forget that if we joined up every post on this forum about how **** Wilder is at boxing the words would probably reach the sun. The half is Whyte, and some might say that's generous to Whyte in terms of 'best of generation' conversation.

I want to see Fury in proper fights, where there is genuine edge and something on the line that makes a fight a spectacle, even if there were no belts. Not someone selected out of a carefully curated hat, with a confected story that is based around Fury being a 'character' and singing American Pie.

But then I'm a fan. If I was a boxer I'd probably want a touch for max payout.

Fury surely doesn't need the money though.

Part of me wonders if this fight is making up for the Whyte fight not paying him enough - so he goes in for an easy one (on paper), hoovers up more than last time, and he's back where he should have been... getting what he thinks is right rather than what he actually needs?

See also the Top Rank / ESPN deal, two tick-over fights and then Wilder.

I think most people want more money, regardless of how much they have mate.

I don't think it's over complex myself. He probably wants Usyk in the spring, I think Tyson feels he will have Usyk's number. So this one is to make 15-20 mill or similar in a fight he's already won twice against a (friend) fighter who poses little risk and may at least put on a show in the build up.

Are we all so quick to forget Fury-Chisora 2? You could hear a pin drop. What a boring flop of a contest.

It's a rubbish fight but he tried to get Usyk and AJ in there. Warren said this is the highest ranked opponent available at short notice. It's a tick over before a February fight against Usyk. Untwist your knickers FFS it's really not a big deal.

He’s skint after giving away previous purses to charity

It's not a big deal, of course not. But we all know the outcome of this fight. Sure he's promised Chisora a final fight, but this is nothing more than a glorified exhibition.

Andy Ruiz would have been a tad more fun but hey ho. I said I wouldn't watch this fight but I most probably will, the idiot that I am.

It is a rubbish fight. It probably will end up a glorified spar. But if that offends people so much then they're free to ignore it. I hate Youtuber fights/Mayweather exhibitions so I just ignore them.

It just feels like people are desperate for a reason to moan about Fury so they're playing up this idea that this fight was always intentional on his part. He tried to get the consensus number 2&3 in the ring first. If AJ hadn't lost his pen and hid in Italy we'd be sat here salivating at the prospect of Fury/AJ now and that would've seemed impossible after the Usyk defeat. But he tried to make it happen, got given the run around for a month with a catalogue of different excuses and then had next to no time to get an opponent in place.

I think that's fair. If there had been no chat about AJ, knowing Usyk wanted to wait a bit longer, nobody would have bothered at a tick-over between mandatory and unification to keep up a pace of 1 every 6 months. AJ did it with Molina to tune up for Klitschko - even Mike Tyson took fights like Tony Tubbs knowing he was already contracted to fight Michael Spinks.

Fury's constant chatter and supposed interest in bigger fights ruins the above though.

It’s a glorified exhibition between 2 past opponents. They were mates a few months back and Fury can make it as competitive as he likes.

There is definitely an element of the boy who cried wolf with Fury. He can't keep his mouth shut for longer than ten seconds so he doesn't help himself. But if the last week has taught us anything it's that Hearn can't be trusted either. The man is a world class liar.

Oh aye absolutely I'm pretty okay with Fury fighting Chisora, as long as he fights Usyk next.

And yes he wasn't to blame for the fact that the Joshua fight fell through. Matchroom just wasn't interested, rightfully so if you ask me.

They were talking about this fight back in August. It was always going to be Chisora.

    My thoughts exactly.

Tyson is too opportunistic to do any of this though. He's not savvy, but he is shameless and greedy.
