The fight still isn't even signed yet and there are rumours they're switching the stadium (presumably to something more modest). If he wanted it to be Chisora all along then I doubt he'd have put himself in this ridiculous situation where he's miles worse off. What has he gained exactly from supposedly pretending to chase AJ? I mean, a fortnight ago everyone was adamant it was Charr all along. Now it was Chisora.

Imagine the meltdown when Fury knocks Usyk out next year, it's going to be biblical.

Just trying to drum up a bit of interest and then can say everyone ducked him etc. Him and Chisora are friends, he’s said for ages he would fight him again to give him a payday (god knows why when he’s had more paydays than any other fat plodding journeyman). All the fake beef nonsense with Chisora supporting Whyte and then arguing over the £2m in the summer is just another attempt to try and get more interest from the casual audience for the ppv.

I guess he was anticipating AJ 'calling his bluff' but also losing his pen at the crucial moment. Fury is a genius.

Big fight like that they know there’s loads of marketing/sponsorship/rights etc terms to be sorted out. Set a date which doesn’t give them any time to do it in and then on top of that spout off on Instagram every few days adding in additional deadlines etc.

As you said earlier the Chisora fight isn’t sealed yet, there was no need for all these artificial deadlines etc if it was seriously going to go ahead.

A date Hearn and AJ agreed to. If it's impossible then why agree to it? They had 29 days to sort it in total. If it's tough then open up a dialogue - how much longer, what do you need etc?
Apparently his lawyers can't sort out all this technical stuff but getting a committee from outer Mongolia to sanction the Eubank - Benn fight on 24 hours notice was completely realistic.

The important thing to remember here is it's not 2018 anymore. Joshua represents nothing but a bundle of cash. There's no prestige in beating him, no fear, no belts. Fury has no reason to not want this fight. AJ has a hundred.

No prestige in beating a top 3 heavyweight?

I'm glad I skipped to the end of all that

Not like before. If he beats Usyk then having Joshua on his record will not be imperative.

AJ is coming off 2 losses.( & a post fight meltdown where he offered excuse reasons why he can't box well.)

honestly anyone can see how that would look if Fury was to beat him.
it would not carry any historical prestige through the records.

    obviously better than Chisora
but still not real prestige. kind of like beating Dillian Whyte, who a lot of persons were calling top 4 heavyweight before Fury (predictably) knocked him out

It’s the tried and tested way of promoting yourself when you intend on fighting a tomato can in a stay busy fight.

You pretend you want a mega fight to draw the media spotlight onto yourself. You then mention you are considering Charr as a backup, a fighter no one wants to see.

You then announce a slightly better opponent than your back up, in Chisora.

It’s the classic bait and switch technique. To make it look like you fighting the tomato can is a result of ‘circumstances’ so you get a pass from the fans for it.

People really need to call this out, but as they keep getting away with it. I can’t see them being forced into giving us regular meaningful fights. No football fan would accept Manchester City not playing Chelsea or Liverpool this season, instead playing Wolves, Aston Villa and Leicester. So why are boxing fans accepting this?

If Fury fights Usyk next then all is forgiven, wouldn't you agree?

Noooo. Fury never wanted a £60m payday against a guy who's not won in nearly 2 years. He didn't want all the attention and accolades which would come along with that fight. He didn't want to sell out a stadium in 5 seconds flat. He didn't want to beat up his long time rival once and for all.

No he always planned to fight Chisora/Charr/My plumber. Why? Because he's crazy!!!!!
