Lofty vs Stout. 6'9 260lbs 86inch reach vs 5'6 200-225lbs 71inch reach That's 1foor 3inchs, 40-60lbs in weight depending on qawi's condition and 15inches in reach fury. Im pretty sure the strong stocky Braxton could use his very good headmovement and get inside and get some shots off, it all depends if he can take the weight of fury pressing down on him all night. It will suit the buzzsaw if Fury gets sloppy as he can do and lays on top of Dwight, because if fury does keeps it long and disciplined - long night for qawi. you have to take in to account that qawi was a lightheavyweight and didn't have a great record at heavyweight but also remember he is a lot harder to hit and hits harder than derrick chisora and Christian hammer. Hes tougher aswell and he faced ATGS, spinks, holyfield and saad Muhammad at light heavy and cruiser and gave a good account of himself against the hardest puncher of all time George Foreman. Would it better for Qawi if he came in a sharper 200-210lbs rather than 230lbs... He may need the extra bulk to withstand fury's mauling tactics. Does Qawi do better than Cunningham, does he keep fury down. Or does Tyson keep it long and dance his way to an easy UD.
Qawi was way way past his best when he took on George Foreman but he still landed a great deal of right hands on old George. We have seen old cruisers knock Fury over before. He does get decked by smaller dudes and that's without fighting great fighters. Old George had a better beard than Fury. It's not even a debate. Having said that, Qawi is seriously disadvantaged to the extent that this is a silly fight. on size level alone it should not really be allowed. Even if the smaller man is so much better than the bigger man why should he give up so much size? What's in it for Qawi? I don't think Fury is a great fighter. If they both existed in the same time frame they would both be wise to avoid the other since the loser would look extremely stupid. Why would anyone want to see a great smaller guy lose to a Luke warm giant? And why would anyone want to see a great smaller guy take such risks even if he won? It's like Hagler vs Joe Bugner. One is so much better the other is just big. It's a freak show. Primo Carnera beating Sugar Ray Leonard would do nothing for either fighters resume.
Interesting match up.... Fury is gonna need to clinch and jab to win this. Probably would be a boring fight. Could go either way, but I'd bet Fury.
Fury got knocked over by an old cruiser as you called him because he stood there clowning If Fury Dosen't want you to hit him you don't hit him Watch the first round of Fury vs Cunningham again and you'll see what I mean
does anyone see it different now, but was afraid to reply. the buzzsaw was tough as nails but obviously be dwarfed.
hagler never moved from 160. leonard never went to hw. dwight was built like a brick**** house at 200lbs. :thumbsup
It's kind of amusing Dwight gets put in so many "fantasy" matchups on here at HW. He fought only a few HW fights, taking the fight with a comebacking Foreman probably for the nice payday. Then, he dropped back down to Cruiserweight for the remainder of his career - a full four years. He was really never a heavyweight player.
It's a battle between someone who should be a Light Heavywieght and someone who should be a Super Heavyweight.
I've never known a performance to be as overrated on this forum as Qawi's against Foreman. He retired on his stool after six one-sided rounds, yet it bizarrely gets put forward as evidence that he'd have success against all kinds of heavyweights.
