Terrell has nothing to hold Tyson Fury off with- Fury would stop him like he did Cunningham - overpower him and stop him anywhere from 1-9 rounds

I believe that WBC Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury would simply out box and humiliate Ernie Terrell, and would win an overwhelming 15 round decision. The former WBA Heavyweight Champion, who stood at 6'6, 215 lbs would have nothing at his disposal to defeat a 6'9 opponent. Tyson would be constantly be poking Terrell's face, who would not be able to wrestle his way into Fury, as he did to others. Ernie would not hear, What's My Name? in this bout, but a constant Thud in his face.

FFS it was only a two fights ago that Fury looked like crap and got split open and taken the distance by a nobody but on the strength of beating the oh so limited Deontay Wilder he’s suddenly become super man. He’s not. He’s a good boxer, with ring smarts and a big heart who uses his size very well but he’s also shown plenty of flaws (not remotely close to what Wilder has though) and has been known to struggle in certain fights.

This fight would be a tedious affair with a lot of clinching, very few exchanges or solid blows landed and an audience bereft of entertainment.

I’ll tip Fury by close UD but Terrell was a good spoiler who could grapple and negate Fury’s spasmodic attacks to make it very tight. Fury can’t move like prime Ali could (not even close, he moves very well for a very tall overweight guy though), doesn’t have the hand speed or output of Ali and probably only similar power despite his massive size and he’s more hittable than prime Ali as the Wallin fight proves. Terrell would be very competitive in my view as though he wasn’t much to watch he was a good boxer with a style that worked for him.

Sonny Liston once remarked, Terrell Hugs More Than I Hug My Wife. Before the Ali vs Terrell fight, Ali took lessons from a wrestler, not an entertainer, but a real wrestler.

Right now the way I see it is the only person that can beat Tyson Fury is Tyson Fury. He has a rubbermatch with Wilder coming this summer, which probably due to the Coronavirus will be pushed back at least until the fall. Hopefully he can stay focused, unlike after beating Wlad he became inactive and was stripped of his belts, due to depression, alcohol, etc. Hopefully we can see him take care of business with Wilder and have a unification bout with Joshua to unify the belts.

I can’t see Terrell bringing anything to the table which would give Fury any problems. Ernie was a good fighter to be sure but he’s outgunned.

Yes. The vulnerability by depression is a big rival to beat. But he did once like the champion who he is
