The cooper who got robbed vs Joe Bugner or the one who dropped Ali your choice. Bugner is probably closest to fury in size
If Fury maintains defensive integrity, he wins a UD or cuts TKO. If he gets sloppy, as he can be prone to do, Cooper can knock him out. I'd call a Cooper win an upset, all things considered.
Thats my prediction aswell. 70lbs weight difference and a 9inch height difference. But we will see what the classic mob has too say.
id say the classic mob will say something along the lines of, 'Cooper almost beat Ali,Cooper destroy Fury durp durp' in reality Fury would play with him from the outside and either knock him out or cut his face to ribbons between 2-5 rounds
how about this then... Fury is rank, he's winning cause he's 10' tall... he's a S-HW, and as soon as he actually meets another S-HW he is finished. that dross of a fight the other night is just another example of how pathetic boxing and particularly heavyweight is. MOST TOP HW's in history beat him... ALL top S-HWs are going to bury him. he's 3rd rate at best!
calm down, hormonal harriet. Its open to discussion. If i dug about an old thread it would have cooper knocking fury out all votes to henry. But i want to see if anyone has changed their minds on tyson.
that's cool and hormonal Harriet is excellent. but Fury is a Giant that normal size Bigmen HWs CAN'T reach, and as soon as he meets another Giant he's done. :good
fury has done nothing except beat a decent journeyman twice and a handful of near40somethings. too early to claim he beats anyone else, lethim prove it first.
Cooper did have a world class left hook and was overall a better fighter than Cunningham. So for the moment the evidence is in Sir 'enry's favour. But Fury is still a 'pup' in boxing terms, and has developed into a far better fighter than I ever thought he would. He also showed against Chisora on Saturday he can adapt during a fight. If he lost another stone or two his athletic ability would be further improved and there maybe more that he can bring to the table, that in due course improves his status.
I don't rate Fury, but this is one instance when size obviously would be an issue. Sir Henry wasn't a great heavyweight and when tested at the higher level his chin wasn't the best. However he was a sound boxer and if there was an instance where Fury did stick his chin out and got careless then I do believe he could seriously hurt Fury who's chin isn't the best either. Overall though I think the physical attributes of the bigger man would simply be too much.
hard to say Cooper had a good left hook and Fury was dropped by Cunningham and Cooper was cut and stopped by many as well. I think Joe Bugner could compare to Fury although shorter by a few inches. Cooper was pretty quick at times and Fury has shown skills and the ability to utilize his size at times I favor Fury
