Obviously he doesn't fight like Joyce, Vitali was incredibly awkward, leaned back, and was a lot more defensively sound. I think he meant more attribute wise. But Vitali definitely wasn't better in every way. Joyce is way bigger in terms of weight, has a better engine and open jury on their punching. Vitali sounded like he hit harder, but Joyce's KO of 255 pound Parker definitely doesn't hurt his argument. They both often wore people down with a huge amount of punches rather than one shot KOing.

Better engine? Idk. Vitali threw a ridiculous amount of punches for a HW.

Yeah, they both do. But recency bias suggests that in a case where a tie can be reasonably argued the modern fighter is always better...

Joyce is miles behind Vitali in any department.
As far as Fury match, eh i think i would go with Fury decision on that one. Joyce KO is alao a possibility. Again AJ vs Fury will give us an insight how this one will plays out.

Fury is not the same, Kronk Fury will lose to Joyce, probably late stoppage.

I am not taking anything from Joyce, but he's significantly slower than Fury, one-dimensional and with bad head movement/defense - just going forward with all his strength will simply lead him into nothing, so even being capable of giving Fury a tough fight, he'll loose on points.

You must be referring to Wladimar. Vitali was never dropped.

That punch from Saunders in the first could have been scored a KD. I think thats what he might be referring to.

Yes. Both two of my favorite HW's of all time going at it.

Yes. I definitely counted that as a legitime KD. Sanders had crazy power. The only one who checked Vitalis chin to the limit.

Fury has diminished resistance. He knows it too.

That is correct. Also Vitalis fought in a smaller era compared to today. That allowed him to use the no guard lean back style combined with his size and overall athletics to avoid punches. He was not tested by Huge punches often enough to absorb cumulative damage to the chin during fights. But atleast against other big punchers with size and speed to counter it his defence looked much worse. Just like Ali for his era. Lean back against smaller men but got tagged against others with similar or close enough size to him.

Fury would have to use all his charm, charisma and gift of the gab to try and convince his slickness to forgive him for abandoning it because this is not a Kronk Fury mission. Big Joe Joyce is a natural disaster in human form and if you stand in front of him he will roll right over you crushing everything in his path.

Big Joe actually sparred Slick Fury before and he said he was very hard to hit

But he didn't go full juggernaut mode on him because that was back when Fury was grossly overweight

    This content is protected

Joyce said: "I first sparred him in Bolton when he was 30st or something, but I still couldn't hit him.

"He was doing rope-a-dope, slipping my shots.

"I took it a bit easy on him because he was so out of shape, but he could still dance rings around me even then.

"If we ever fought I'd have to go full juggernaut style on him and not let him breathe, cut the ring down and don't let him get going because when he gets into a rhythm he comes at you from mad angles. His jab is so fast."

Fury needs to abandon Kronk style like he did his slickness for Big Joe or and he'll get dragged through hell like the rest of them
