In light of his impressive victory last night, how does Fury do against the original Bomber from Alabama?

The Gypsy King vs The Brown Bomber?

Joe gets ko'd about the same time imo as Wilder, hes dealing with someone way to big with great iq, he'd rough him up bad, turn on the rough housing if needed

    Let's not get carried away.

This is a very impressive win, but it is just one win!

I mean it's not entirely fair, because Fury has better trainers and video to help him develop technique that is far better that what Joe Louis possessed. But Fury should be far too elusive and savy for Louis because of this.

But what if Louis had better trainers and Fury lived in an era without youtube boxing? Because Fury was crap early in his career. Maybe with modern knowledge and drugs Louis is way better than he was.

Like Joe spouted when Ali kept going on about being the greatest, 'you can only be the best in your own time'

Agreed, however, stylistically, it could be a very trying fight for Joe.

I could make the fight plan for Fury to outpoint him in the first, knowing that Louis likely adjusts in the rematch.

Whatever was in Jack Blackburn's mind didn't stop Joe Louis getting knocked over and outmoved by so many boxers. He was a bit like Wilder in that his power got him out of trouble but he was beat up on, outboxed and knocked down quite often.

Joe KOs him. Fury is elusive for his size...but he’s elusive to 6”6 over weight men (or ones that can’t box). I’m not ready to anoint him the GOAT but he’s damn good

This. I need to see Fury become the undisputed champ and go clean out the division before saying he beats Joe Louis.

Louis rather easily but fury will go down swinging

I don't think Louis' moribund footwork does him much good here. He certainly doesn't punch harder than Wilder but he gets his punches in bunches. Great bout. The best version of Louis is the best fighter Fury has ever faced and vice versa.

Agreed. I’d still favor Louis but not to the extent of putting money on it. He was after all a destroyer of very big men

I think you could argue Billy Conn was better than Fury, just a lot smaller. Conn's movement was much more erratic and he seemed to have faster hands and better combinations. Fury is just bigger and Conn chin wasn't too shabby either.
