I realise what Fury did against Wlad wasn't particularly exciting but I personally find a boxer using their defense and jab to negate their opponent an art form. Although it's obviously a much easier art form if you have height and reach advantages. Stylistically it's a bad match up for Wlad. Wlad made a whole career of boxing from range. So he seemingly didn't know what to do when he had to hunt an opponent down. AJ did engage and fight a typical boxer puncher style as opposed to a backfoot style, which gave Wlad more openings.
I think Louis has serious issues with ring generalship and defense that lets him down in certain match ups.
Relative to who? Outside of Wlad who was old, Fury never faced as good ring general and defensive fighter as Louis.
Too soon to compare, great win for the new champ. But everyone knows what happens when we assume, need I say more. We need to see more of Fury. Please no trilogies, let us see a fight against Anthony Joshua to gauge his talents. Joe Louis is a proven legend, size does not mean a thing, Louis destroyed giant Buddy Baer.
Fury didn't use elusiveness against Wilder, he used his size, strength and jab and that would work against Louis too considering Louis is 6'0.5 205 lbs and Fury is 6'9 and 273 lbs and is faster than Louis, come on people lets be realistic
Louis wasn't clueless against size and strength disadvantage like Wilder though. He was used to be smaller and weaker man in the ring. Comparing Wilder to Louis is disrespectful for Louis.
Fury overcommits on his front foot when he jabs which leaves him open to counter rights and Louis had the handspeed and counter punching savvy to exploit this flaw.
Louis held his head off line to the right, Fury will strain to land the jab, it`s just a habit he has, he always puts all his weight on his front foot when he punches.
Look at their legs, ones in concrete, one is moving and is fluid. With the reach advantage and his movement alone and Louis is ****ed, then there's other factors to consider on top
Louis was smart and economical with his feet, always in position to counter. This content is protected
