Joe gets knocked out mate, all sports progress. The Brown Bomber isn't bombing out much bigger stronger men that occupy the top now, the big fighters he fought just weren't as good

Movers gave Louis problems for a reason, Billy Conn for instance

So Ali wouldn't beat anyone today either? Is 50 years of "progress" enough?
Fury isn't close stylistically to Conn at all.

Never said he's not, just not as quick as Louis.

Louis runs him over in 10. Fury gets floored three times in the fight, the last time is one of Louis' famous combinations that put him into a borderline coma.

I keep reading all these ridiculous notes about size. Hello, yes a good big fighter will usually beat a smaller good fighter. Fury isn't and never WILL be Joe Louis, he's just not that elite a quality fighter. It's tough imagining him getting through the majority of the 70s champions, not to mention guys like Holmes, Ali, Liston, and Louis.

Had Fury been around the time of Lewis-Rahman 2 he would have been smacked silly and out in 8 by Lennox. 10 by Wlad.

Just my opinion no offense to TF fans. I'm first to admit Fury has heart (OH YEAH!) no doubt about that. And his victory over Wilder was not only his one big win. but a very fine win at that. Fury could more than likely crack that exalted top 20 ATG if he keeps it up. ]

He needs a couple of more big wins (Wilder again and Joshua...maybe Ruiz) and he can get mentioned in the same breath as guys like Bowe, Liston, and Tyson. He has yet to beat anyone as good as those last three names. At least Wilder was undefeated with 10 defenses under his belt (yeah folks, that's more than credible in my book) and Joshua avenged his defeat and won the title twice.

Sure, but he didn't fight like Conn. They are nothing alike.
It's like saying that Foreman was much better than Norton, so he should have destroyed Ali.

There was a lot of rounds where Louis couldn't find him though down to him moving before the KO. It wasn't a good look for the Bomber

Who has Fury beaten even close to Louis level of skill? If the skill depleted wilder knocked him down I can’t imagine what the faster and more skilled Louis would do to him.

Again - why people compare slick 6'9 270 lbs monster to someone like Conn? Conn was much faster than Fury, it's not even close and he's tougher to land on.

But that was Fury at 50% and also Wilder had the height to reach Fury, anyway Fury dominated him in the rematch, and I fully believe that the Klitschko that Fury beat would beat louis and anyway, how is the 6'1 Louis gonna reach Fury and with the 70 lbs difference in weight, how is Louis gonna push Fury back, and Louis was never a backfoot fighter, so how is he gonna reach Fury?
