KO's are rare in British rings though..... the referees tend to jump in when a guy is clearly beaten and cannot continue - granted some of the more bloodthirsty fans don't like it, but if it was your son/brother getting a beating you would think differently.
I think its wrong. This eliminates the great skill of recovery. It has potentially robbed of us of many extraordinary fights. The Matthew Saad Muhammad thread in the General reminded me of how many times he recovered from the brink, taking shot after shot while stunned on the ropes and fighting back to win.
No one has died in a UK ring for a hell of a long time.... Thank god. The BBBC have done a wonderful job. I rarely argue with a stoppage. Mathews the other week was poor though.... the ref really ****ed up.
Isn't Ellis that bloke who used to come into the ring to the James Bond theme and wearing a Velco tuxedo??
