It'll be a pleasant surprise if this happens, since Fury was rumoured to be fighting Coleman Barrett next. This is a significant step up.

Regardless of who wins, I always like seeing prospects like this meet.

The point of my post was not to compare Perez to a 21 year old heavyweight project made of raw cookie dough, it was to simply illustrate that Perez has exactly jack **** in the power department.

Perez is the type of guy that's going to look good against no hopers - solid fundamentals, high workrate and very aggressive style.

But once he steps up his tiny size and lack of punching power will be exposed.

Do you know Perez sparred Fury twice. The time he was in shape he battered him around the ring and the time he wasn't Fury got the better of him. For you to say Fury would obliterate Perez without breaking a sweat is absolute lunacy. Same goes for taking the opposite opinion.

    Cracking fight this.

Very tough to call, Perez is compact, powerful and fast with a good workrate. He will get close and he will land that big looping right hand over the top that Fury is susceptible to.

Will Fury's chin stand up to it? We know he has fair whiskers, and we know his stamina has improved, so for me it comes down to how well Perez can last over the distance.

I made good money on Fury over Chisora. I HOPE the bookies makes Fury an underdog in this fight aswell.. Because Fury will once again win an easy decision.

I'm not terribly interesting in sparring rumors, especially since it's, y'know, sparring.

But if you've got a video of them going at it I'd be interested to see.

Why do people keep on saying Perez has power when he doesn't?

The guy can't break an egg. His fights are all the same, land a 500 punch flurry against some tomato can until they take a knee out of exhaustion.

I think the prizefighter tournament has really got people thinking Perez is something he's not because he was able to knock out Tye Fields, a guy with zero punch resistance that will be stunned by any hard punch.

Plus their sparring was from a long time ago, back when they were both just turning pro.

I believe it was Charles White who asked Zack Page (who was shut out by both of them) which one was better, and Page said Fury. Doesn't mean that much, but if anyone has an informed opinion, it's Zack Page.

I think how Perez copes with the size difference will be key, yes he did spark out the equally big Fields but how will Perez cope with the size difference if the fight gets into the middle or later rounds.
If Perez copes well with Fury's size then I expect him to win....perhaps on points rather than a KO or TKO.

As for Fury........would I be correct in thinking that Perez should be the first fighter that actually turns up in good shape against Fury.
So far Fury seems only to be fighting fat guys!

It cracks me up that you would look at the Fields win as any sort of measuring stick against a guy like Fury.

News flash - Fields can't take a punch and can't fight a lick.
