The ****? Some people lost the signal? That's a damn shame. Channel 5 fails.

    Ah, I missed that then.

He'd have had a good case if he limited it to heavyweight. :yep

Yes, but they are redeeming themselves.

How often does any network immediately replay four rounds of a completed war? :bbb

HBO sometimes replays the whole thing if a fight ends in the 1st or 2nd, but I can't remember them ever showing this much over again.

Fury was in such deep **** in the third. That can't be understated.

It just makes his rally over the next several minutes all the more impressive. The fact that he didn't lose his head and stayed disciplined enough to set everything back up behind his jab says a LOT about his maturity at 23.

How about a hand for the big Russian? (who according to Bernstein is also part Irish...)

He did not come in with an opponent's mentality tonight. He tried to win and seemed to really come within a few big shots.

I've never seen anyone hurt Fury like he did.

Much **** was talked about Firtha as a late replacement here (much of it by me) but he earned some respect and apologies today.

Bernstein says he thinks Fury is on his way to being on the same level of ability and marketability as Robert Helenius, as both create excitement with their styles. He thinks the 18 month timetable to a world title makes sense.

Yeah, Firtha always comes to fight and is a good blue collar fighter. He never just packs it and just fights for a payday.

    Round 1

Galahad scores a quick right hand knockdown on the 40 year old substitute (originally supposed to face Kevin O'Hara in a super featherweight bout on this card before signing on to dance with the bantamweight prospect). Griffin tries to hang tough and back up into range to land something but Galahad pesters him with quick body shots. Griffin lands a couple of soft jabs but Galahad floors him again with a 1-2 to the chin and a perfectly placed left hook to the liver. No count.

Griffin is snorting blood and spared more punishment by the referee.

Galahad is interviewed in his locker room. (the fight was pre-recorded before the main event).

He is compared favorably to fellow switch-hitting Sheffield native Naseem Hamed, and seems a bit flattered and uncomfortable with the comparison.

He clearly isn't like Naz in terms of ego. :yep (or power, as Bernstein points out despite the quick first round knockout of the overmatched forty year old).
