I also make Fury favourite but not as wide as others on here. Probably 60-40 or 70-30. Think a lot depends on the ref and how dirty he allows the fight to be as this will almost certainly form a big part of Fury's tactics. The footwork discussion is an interesting one. While I wouldn't necessarily agree with the sentiment that it's deserted him it's been a long time since Fury even boxed in that style (Wilder I?) and even longer since he fought an opponent who has excellent footwork himself. Think Fury's level in this regard is actually one of the biggest unknowns in this fight which adds intrigue. I don't understand the posters who think it'll be easy for Fury with comments about using his jab. Making people miss and taking their jab away are some of Usyk's biggest skills so the idea that Fury will just jab his head off with ease is for the birds imo. My prediction is a late stoppage for Fury after using his size and strength to wear Usyk out during the fight. However if Usyk manages to stay away for the first 7/8 rounds then you'd have to back him to bank most of the late rounds as his stamina is unreal. Agree with others that if it goes the distance we'll see some controversial scorecards. Think the fight may actually be relatively dull. Will be interesting from an intrigue point of view rather than raw excitement. All that said I'm still not convinced it'll happen. I definitely don't see the December date happening and then you're into January which is 3 months away and lots can happen in that time. Really hope I'm wrong though as would love to see this finally happen.
Would love to see Fury really feel the pace for once. He's always been a master at pacing himself over 12 rounds regardless of his conditioning, you don't really see him tired or blowing. Will be interesting if it happens against Usyk because Fury doesn't have quit in him, could make for a very entertaining last few rounds if Usyk is trying to catch up on the scorecards.
Fury moves and jabs better than AJ and that’s why he beats usyk in a close boring fight imo. I’ll be cheering for usyk though
Do you want him to win this fight that we all have been waiting for by mauling him to death though? That would be crap and not a good advert for boxing. We want to see both of them showing their elite skills and Fury always is always reminding us of what a master boxer he is so he should test himself, not just lean on him for the full 12 rounds like you say. I do get it though, if you are a massive Fury fan you will want him to win any way possible and maybe don’t care how he gets the W. I remember being very happy when Lennox beat McCall in their rematch and in hindsight there wasn’t much to celebrate with the way he won that fight.
What I want to happen has no bearing on how the fight pans out. I’m not expecting Fury to fight like he doesn’t have a fifty pound weight advantage and an eight inch reach advantage for “the good of boxing”. Not sure what that even means. I can see Fury turning southpaw to take the **** if he is winning the fight easily.
You really don’t rate Usyk do you. Fair enough. I see it as a close fight and a close decision. What I mean is we want entertainment in this fight. We’ve just had a stinker of a match this weekend in Vegas and we want the hype to be lived up to for once.
This is how I also see it going, Usyk chasing him down in the championship rounds a couple of rounds behind.
I rate USKY as a cruiserweight great. His skillset is just about enough at heavy to make up the size difference against chisora Joshua level limited plodders. Against twenty stone gypsy tank fury who knows how to use his size advantage, I don’t think the little BRUTHA from the east has a chance. that doesn’t detract from USKYs skillset, it just means he doesn’t make up the size difference against a legit ATG heavy like fury. twenty stone gypsy tank Fury is a nightmare for any prime heavy in history. Let alone a feather fisted little 37yo cruiserweight.
i want to see him walk down usyk put it on him ruff him up make it dirty and stop him that would be most entertaining for me fury taking few of the feather fisted punches to get a few of finally get to him and put him over in bloody mess usyks face looking like a pepperoni pizza thats been dropped on its arse staggering about struggling to walk
end of a storied career usyk battered and damanged of the gypsy king shows the levels between chisora and joshua and trust me you will all see it one way or another fury will get the win usyk will be battered the king will be crowned he can sail of into sunset beat the best of era klitschko wilder thrice usyk chisora thrice wallin whyte what a record undefeated breath taking
Let’s hope that does happen Jim as you’ve stated you give Uysk only a 5% chance of beating Fury which is very Fury fan boy like as the boxing pundits (not saying they are always correct, but most are ex fighters) see this as a 50/50. Obviously styles make fights but please tell me you haven’t forgotten that Uysk beat the crap out of your man Joe Joyce a few years ago in the WSB and that wasn’t even wearing proper gloves and you were tipping Joyce to beat Fury 6 months ago. I am starting to think you may be an Usyk hater and we know why because you only seem to like massive heavyweights. He’s a great guy and one of the most likeable boxers in the game today.
usyk is a nice fella good boxer always liked him just think hes no match for fury he lost to dubois was a good punch so hows he going to beat fury sonny its obvious you dont like fury not sure why maybe cos your mates with david haye who pulled out twice against fury as he wanted no part in it not sure of any other reason as fury is a genius i dont like furys personality but ffs hes genius in ring isnt he
