Fury has good ring IQ and powers of recovery but he doesn’t have a great defence contrary to what people think (not saying he’ll get knocked out, just that Usyk will win rounds). His footwork has now deserted him too. Can he keep up with Usyk and pin him down?

Usyk isn’t just going to sit there and let Tyson unload. He’ll be on the move for a full 12 rounds. How does this version of Fury do against fighters who actually move unlike Wilder, Chisora and Whyte?

A Fury win wouldn't surprise me at all but I would absolutely love Usyk to not just beat him but beat him convincingly

This is going to be the toughest fight of his career. The Uysk movement is going to give him nightmares.

Ridiculous to say really when he has every advantage going in size, strength, weight and reach.

Hope it’s a ref’, maybe Harvey Dock, to control “the real fighting man’s” dirty tactics and bearing down on opponents.

    Absolutely.
Don't want it to be a case of big fat guy leaning on a guy who's 6 stone lighter all night. Then making out he's a super talented boxer when he finally wears him out

How do you know his footwork has deserted him?

What evidence is there that Fury's 'footwork has deserted him' ?

How does this version of Fury do against fighters who actually move? To hit Fury, Usyk needs to get within reach of him and with Fury's reach advantage, he will be sticking Usyk with his jab every time Usyk tries to get close enough to land.

Probably his noticeable weight V Whyte and how slow he was moving around the ring. Whyte had concrete in his Boots but Fury did look less agile then in previous fights. Desserted might be a strong word though probably just natural age-related slowdown.

If Fury can keep the fight at range, and then ugly when it's inside it's his too loose. I reckon he will be targeting the body out of the clinch as well. We've probably all seen the videos now of Usyk claiming low blows when hit to the body so they will be working on something in Fury camp

Usyk is going to have hit and not get hit and strangely although he takes them well he is hittable. It's his offensive abilities that set him apart. If he can create openings (he will) and lang with regularity its going to be a tough fight for Fury.

I keep thinking back to the likes of Haye V Valuev though, Haye V Klitschko, and that height and reach can be difficult to overcome.

We will see then won’t we? People are allowed other opinions. If he doesn’t win easily, you are going to look like a right tit. You actually think this is going to be a walk in the park for him, bless you dear boy.

Nah, fury will hold when close and keep him out with his reach.. make this look easy he has the reach and can roll Usyk whenever he once, use his weight to stall the fight and tire him . Might even end him Cunningham style.

I'll believe it when both men are in the ring.

That being said, if it happens Fury wins for me by late stoppage. He's too big, has enough power, and has great ring IQ. I think he struggles at first but by round 6 he would have caught up to Usyk and start wearing him down.

Blimey, I can’t fault your ambitious prediction. Pretty certain that won’t be happening, but will probably will be reminding you of this post immediately after the fight :).

At this point in their respective careers, I'm not sure it's an easy fight for either man, Fury can only abuse his body and get away with it for so long, and another quick handed southpaw made it uncomfortable for a lower mileage Fury a while ago.

Still think Fury wins, as he does seem to have a knack for finding a way (as does Usyk), but being the bigger, stronger man, but one with smarts and toughness, I can see Fury getting his hands raised in what might be a fairly humdrum affair, despite the hype.

However I'll believe it happens when I see them in centre ring, touching gloves
