I wonder if a stumbling block could be location I get the impression that they both like being the away fighter in big fights
Usyk is my man & I would be rooting for him, but I don't think he can beat Fury, unfortunately. If Usyk gets past AJ, then this fight has to get made, it's too important to let slide for several reasons.
This sounds reasonable overall, except the way you put it before you gave odds, it sounds like you would have Fury no less than around 80-20! Instead of very close to a pick 'em, even Steven.
Fury's fought 7 southpaws as a pro and wanted to fight Chagaev back in 2012. He's had 7970 seconds of pro ring time against southpaws, as opposed to AJ's 272 seconds (against green quitter Martin) prior to Usyk 1. It's not just ring time either. Fury was sparring southpaws for these fights (some of which were no doubt better than many of his southpaw opponents) so his sparring experience against southpaws also dwarfs AJ's.
Indeed: did Whyte even land a single hard (non-rabbit) punch to Fury's head? Whyte was toyed with and humiliated; a more experienced and skilled Whyte than the one who beat Chisora twice.
Fury beats Usyk. Either a late stoppage or a decision. Usyk is getting overrated after the AJ fight. I just rewatched that fight and I scored it 7-5 for Usyk, a lot closer than I thought it was when I watched it live.
Close? Lol. He was to undertake Bodybuilder's career in the last round. Bodybuilder has to thank Usyks cornermen screaming: "Dont knock him out", Usyk who heard his corner and Hearn who made ring the bell five seconds before the end.
Yes it was close. People seem to only remember that last minute. And even in that last flurry Usyk only landed 2-3 shots. (looked a lot more spectacular than it actually was) I see AJ stopping him in the rematch next month.
