If Fury had not fought Wilder and last night’s fight preceded the Wilder fight, how many people would have picked Fury to dominate Wilder for most of the fight - as he did?

This is what happens every time a fighter has an off night or struggles with an opponent. I’ve watched boxing for 40 years and have seen several ATGs struggle with lesser opponents. Fury is a headcsse and I never know what to expect. A motivated Fury could beat any HW. The guy who showed up last night would have his hands full with Usyk.

Fury is no spring chicken and I’m curious to see if he’s going to have major cut problems as he gets older. That cut last night was in a very bad spot and looked pretty bad. Fury impressed me with his heart and gastank for his age and size.

What surprises me the most is that Fury is still at the top of the heap. After the initial exposure when he fought Klitschko, I thought he wouldn't be around long, a one-hit wonder. I was completely wrong. However, I don't think that means he is a world-beater. His natural physical attributes keep him in most fights and he can bang but he seems way too hittable. He's like cornering a badger, though.

I can't remember the fight but Usyk was buzzed in one of them. However, he can be a buzzsaw. Michael Hunter is a tough customer. Remind yourself how Usyk went toe-to-toe with Hunter and nearly KO'd him. Very impressive. If nothing else, you have to listen to Bernard at about 25 seconds where he says "the guy is counter-tentative." Gotta love Bernard's commentary. Ha!

Don’t forget, Fury had a pretty long “vacation” before his comeback. I thought he would be long gone by now and never thought he’d come back and look as good as he’s looked. When has a fighter ever stepped away, gained a hundred pounds, gone crazy, taken a bunch of drugs, and dominate a world champion (with the exception of a coupe KDs) like Fury did? He got off the deck after being hit by two flush shots by one of the biggest punchers I’ve ever seen. For all of his clownish behavior I’ll never forget standing up and telling my friends, this fight is over as soon as it happened. He will always have my respect and admiration for showing that kind of heart.

Also, he was hit more last night than he’s ever been hit before. He looked like a defensive wizard in the Wilder fight and moves so well for a big guy.

After last night, I don’t think we will see Fury fight Usyk (or any southpaw) any time soon, if ever.

Fury seemed like he was struggling with Wallin being a southpaw, which can be tricky to fight. Usyk definitely would be a tough fight for any of the top guys at heavyweight.
