This will be Fury's 4th joke fight out of his last five opponents. I didn't gripe about the first two post-return, but the last one was poor and this one is completely inexcusable.

At least Fury is cleaning out the Euro bum circuit. Overdue imo.

Remember when you were throwing a fit when Wlad was defending against Eddie Chambers? Oh the double standards.

You mean guys like Pulev, Povetkin or Whyte? Fury isn't cleaning anything out except for a bunch of winos from the homeless shelter.

    I'm not defending the fight... it's ****.

But I can understand the thinking behind it. Fury took a massive roll of the dice to fight Wilder last year and most expected him to finish the fight horizontal (He almost did) because no way was he anywhere near back to his best.

However, he got a draw from a fight most thought he'd won and off the back of that, signed a multi-fight, multi-million dollar deal with ESPN. Four tune-up fights on the way back to the top after two years out would not be considered unusual, but for the Wilder fight sandwiched between them, which was a calculated risk worth taking.

It's not like he holds a belt (he does need to STFU about that lineal nonsense), doesn't have to accommodate mandatory defenses, and is using a couple more fights to complete the comeback, get another couple of camps under his belt and refresh after being hit very hard on the head in the 12th round of a fight he was not fully prepared for physically. These fights are to make sure he's not in the same position for the rematch.

Makes sense; makes money. But anyone who shells out for this PPV needs swift medical intervention.

But... if he hasn't fought Wilder by the time this ESPN deal has expired, he deserves all the **** people seem to want to give him now....

I have no doubt Eddie Hearn was telling the truth when he said Fury wanted 5 gimme fights to sign with matchroom before fighting AJ.

They could have got Povetkin if they really wanted.

this is his entire career, minus his two title fights. hand picked opponents with no power who pose no threat.

It's a disgrace of a fight and it will be rightly panned by everyone.
