    Yes he was.

    He was certainly not the fearsome monster that he was in 72.

    Fury is my current favourite HW and one of my favourite personalities.

    But George was a top 4 all-time H2H in the early seventies.

    I think he would beat any current heavy, including my favourite gypsy.

    I agree, and I also believe Fury is immensely talented. I have a hard time believing Fury can avoid Foreman's onslaught without absorbing a terrible beating. In theory, Fury MIGHT have the tools to take George into deep waters and tire him out, but I'm not sold on that.

    No way Foreman neglects Fury's body the way both Wladimir and Wilder did.

    Fury is a smooth operator, but I haven't seen enough from him that I'd ever be inclined to pick him against prime Big George - where I agree with you, he's a head-to-head monster.

    George is small compared to Fury. Fury has speed and straight punches with his reach pretty much look like the 2nd Wilder fight.

    The size/weight difference between them is around the same difference between Kovalev-Foreman.
